@Ian Plätschisch, do you think your show would be a good fit for the Talossan Broadcasting Company youtube channel?

Good point! Ian, I’d be happy to collaborate with you. I’m not sure exactly what your ideal format it, but I’m sure we can work it out. There are plenty of podcast style channels out there now and I’d be happy to give you a platform for your work through the channel.

This would be great to see and I wish you a lot of success with it!

It isn't actually too late to stop the legislative repeal, no.  However, I think I will still put the repeal Bill forward anyway.  I really think this kind of endeavour would be much better handled in the hands of private enterprise.

That said, the Ministry is entirely open to providing assistance wherever it can.  Just let us know how we can help and we will see what we can do (including promotion of the channel via our social media or other web assets).  Just because this YouTube channel won't be officially endorsed, doesn't mean it can't benefit from government assistance.

I agree, it’s be better to keep this autonomous from government control. My main goal for the channel was originally as a cultural exchange platform so I can talk to and broadcast Talossans from all over the world and just have a chat with them about the things we all enjoy and like about this place.

Now, I wanna expand on that a bit and also do FYI sort of segments so I can help prospective citizens learn more about the culture and of course a series focused on the language.

It’s a lot of work and I’ll need some volunteers if and when it gets to that level. For now, I just wanna restart the chat show and see from there.

It's a pity we're planning to repeal El Lexhatx D.2.10.1, you could have changed the name and made it official

That is unfortunate. I’m assuming it’s too late to change that. But anyway I’d be willing to coordinate with the Ministry of STUFF with anything involving the channel.

Is there a reason why the logo has the flag upside down? I've been subscribed to the channel for years and I've only just realised it...

There’s no reason. I just noticed now too! It was made for me by someone awhile back and I can’t quite remember. If we restart the channel, I’ll come up with something better.

A specific question in the recent survey issued by the Government reminded me of an old project of mine for Talossa that I might just revive if anyone’s interested.

Talossan Broadcasting Company, which is a YouTube channel I made some years ago, has been in hiatus for awhile. I had a little chat show on there that I hosted once a week where I discuss everything Talossan with a panel of guests. Besides that though, I’ve always been interested in opening it up to people who want to contribute. Maybe some learning materials for new citizens or even language lectures eventually(?)

I just want to gauge interest and see if we can revive it as a community. I know we’re all looking for ways to be more active on here (I know I am), so give me some feedback!

I believe that it is. I'm asking because I don't want to be accused of dictatorial practices.

The mistakes must’ve been carried over the newer materials. I understand how hard it can be to make corrections especially when you’re doing it in bulk.

Let’s get a consensus on this, but I have no problem with it.

Is it just a genuine oversight in your opinion? If that’s the case, I don’t see any reason why it can’t be corrected.

Azul! We’d be happy to help you get settled in Talossa. Tell us, what about Talossa are you interested in? What drew you in in the first place? There’s the language of course, if you’re interested in that. There’s also policy making.

If you want, you can start by learning more about our history and culture. That way everything won’t seem so foreign when you delve in.

Maritiimi-Maxhestic / Re: Notice to Voters in MM Senate Election

I have serious ethical concerns about the turn this particular election is taking. Putting aside the politics for a moment, candidates, as a principle, should NEVER hold any office that has any power to even remotely influence the outcome of the election—let alone be allowed to vote twice and decide the entire outcome with it.

In this particular instance, I have no doubt, Ian, that you think yourself to be the most qualified and natural candidate for the MM senate seat. I respect that as I respect your first vote. But to vote for yourself again and win all because of some legalese technicality is unethical and, frankly, undemocratic in my view. I urge you to ABSTAIN from voting again until we have exhausted all other alternatives.

(For those of you who are aware, this might give you some terrible flashbacks of the 2018 gubernatorial election in Georgia where Brian Kemp had unfettered oversight as then-current Secretary of State over his own election. This is too close for comfort and to stand on technicality despite the obvious moral questions is too great to just slide by. We have to resolve this issue systematically, not just in this instance)

We need a new Talossan history syllabus for all new citizens to learn.
Yes, I couldn’t agree more! Even just a condensed version would go a long way. We should use our official wiki for more comprehensive summaries, but I recommend creating a cheat sheet of sorts of all important dates and information that we can give to new applicants and citizens.

This thread is a bit cold but I just want to ask if there’s been an answer to this question. I still personally use his 2nd edition grammar as my reference although, as mentioned, the spelling is outdated.

Are there anymore updates we’d like to see besides spelling? Are there proposed change to the grammar as well?

Azul! I’m interested in joining the committee. I’ve spent the past several years studying linguistics at university and I hope I can make use of it here. I hope you’re accepting new members!
