And thus the amendment to the Benitan Constitution passes the referendum unanimously.

Okay, I'll now go ahead and cast my vote in favor of my proposal as well.

Sorry for intruding, but Google Translate should not be used to either translate into Latin or to verify a Latin translation.

Based on what I remember from 7 years or Latin classes, I believe Lord Davinescu's translation to be correct.
Yeah, I've got a friend who's now a classics grad student/TA at the University of Minnesota, and "Don't use Google Translate; it's not that it's cheating, it's that it's laughably wrong" is what they tell their undergrads.

So, one of the things I did a long while back was take the Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator and whip up a whole variety of keyboards for Windows.

The particularly relevant ones for this discussion would be the "Other OS US Keyboard Layouts" which cover the Macintosh, Amiga, NeXT, and VT320/Unix compose key-style methods of doing accented characters, several variants on the US-International if you don't get along with the standard Windows US International or want the additions the Linux version has, and a "United States (English and Talossan)" layout that uses combining diacriticals instead of precomposed diacritics (which is to say, instead of supporting typing the precomposed character "á", you type an a and then the combining acute, which your computer backs up to display as "á").

(Using the combining diacritical characters made it possible to support every Talossan orthography ever with much less work on my part than assigning a combo to every precomposed glyph.)

Also posted at https://talossa.net/members/xpb/activity/443/ (you will need a complimentary TalossaNET account to login)

Balançeu / Balance believes there should not be a change to an elected office called "King" similar to a President (such as occurs in 12 other global countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Burundi, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Syria, and Tajikistan every 7 years).

Good sir, doth thou ever hear of the holy roman empire? or the kingdom of Scotland? or even the Byzantium? Dutch Republic? Poland Lithuanian commonwealth? Ever heard of the pope? Andorra? Do you know what they all have in common?  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elective_monarchy
You do understand that except for Andorra in the modern era (and that as a side-effect of France abolishing its monarchy in favor of a fixed-term presidency), all of your examples of "elective monarchy" there are cases where the monarch was elected for life, not for a limited term? Much like, well, the current King of Talossa was elected?

The following proposal to amend the Constitution of Benito, having been unanimously passed by the Assembly and Senate, is now up for referendum. The referendum vote opens immediately and shall close at the same time as the upcoming Cosa election.

The proposal is as follows:

Whereas, in Benito as currently constituted, the Arvitieir Prima has a whole bunch of power on the provincial level, while the Noval Representanteu (Senator) doesn't have any, and

Whereas, the logical Maestro of the province currently is the same guy who is the current Noval Representanteu (Senator);

It is so resolved that

Article 23 of the Provincial Constitution, which currently reads:
"So that no conflict of interest may occur, or that no one individual may take over the province in a hostile attempt, no-one may hold more than one of the offices of Maestro, Viceré, or Noval Representanteu simultaneously. The Viceré also may not hold seats in the Provincial Chancellery."

shall be amended to read:
"So that no conflict of interest may occur, or that no one individual may take over the province in a hostile attempt, no-one may hold more than one of the offices of Maestro, Viceré, or Arvitieir Prima simultaneously. The Viceré also may not hold seats in the Provincial Chancellery."

And since the 7 days have passed, this goes through unanimously, 1-0.

All right, more than 2 days having passed, I'm officially speaker. The proposal before the Senate is an amendment passed unanimously by the Assembly:

Whereas, in Benito as currently constituted, the Arvitieir Prima has a whole bunch of power on the provincial level, while the Noval Representanteu (Senator) doesn't have any, and

Whereas, the logical Maestro of the province currently is the same guy who is the current Noval Representanteu (Senator);

Voting on the proposal will be open for one week or until there is a clear majority for/against the proposal.

I vote in favor.

@Istefan Perþonest, how do we pay you the fees again?

The best way is to send $10 via PayPal to stamps@talossa.com . I can support other methods as necessary.
