Vitxalmour Conductour and I got the crazy idea to bike a local trail (The Greenway Trail in Lisbon, Ohio.) Neither of us had ridden bikes in years, but we thought it would be a fun thing to do. The trail (at the time) was like 27 miles, round trip. Somehow, we completed the entire trail, but at the point of nearly complete total exhaustion. I couldn't walk for a week afterwards. (And it was mainly my butt...the seat on the bike I rode was a torture device.) (I've definitely gained massive respect for professional riders.) Anyhow, with the Talossan Cycling Associations fantasy league being so popular, I suggested to Vitx that we attempt to ride the trail again, but this time doing it as a race. Maybe we could even get Talossans interested in betting on who would win, and film some of the action for a ForaTalossa segment. Sounded good to him. "I'll get the bikes cleaned up and ready to go." Unfortunately...the bikes were accidentally left out all winter, and had rusted and basically become unridable. So the Great Greenway Trail Race is cancelled until further notice.

I believe the issue Tric'hard is talking about may possibly be Superman #500. This run of Superman (from his death to resurrection) was fairly popular at the time, so they printed a whole bunch of every issue...I'm still finding them in dollar bins. However, #500 is a major key, and having it signed would make it slightly more valuable than an unsigned copy.

Vitx is currently working in a game store as a summer job (they sell Dungeons and Dragons stuff, board games, and trading card games)...well, apparently this place has the capabilities of printing custom cards. I'm going to get with him and see if we can print a sample deck using Marcel's designs, just to see how it turns out. I'll keep y'all posted.

As far as I can tell, it has not yet been published in English. Looks interesting, tho.
The American comics industry still seems to be largely dominated by the Big Two (Marvel and DC), and that's pretty much all you can find at our local comics stores. Indie books and imports are hard to find unless I go to one of the bigger stores, say, in Pittsburgh. (Well...manga is pretty popular everywhere.) So, most of the stuff I have access to is superhero comics. (Occasionally I'll find some offbeat stuff in the bargain bins.)
Recommending stuff is hard, because I'm not sure what all you like. If you like superheroes, I've been enjoying Dan Jurgens' run on Action Comics lately (Superman), which came out a few years ago. I'm not sure if they've been reprinted in trade paperback (or album) format yet. (I mainly collect single issues.) I've recently begun a re-read of Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which I think is great (I have the whole series.) I also really like Nemesis the Warlock...it's a British comic that came out in the eighties that I've recently discovered. The whole series has been reprinted in three volumes.
We actually have another member of the Society, Vitxalmour Conductour, who probably has over 10,000 comics by now. But he seldom gets on Witt.

To be honest, I've not really looked into web comics that much. (I know, I'm really behind the times. It would certainly save me space...instead of having boxes of print comics stacked everywhere!) The most reading of comics I've done online have just been old public domain comics that people have scanned and uploaded to various websites.

I probably applied for my initial card as soon as they were available. (You know me, I instantly jump on anything free.) Mic'haglh Autofil sent me a nice letter with my card. The letter was dated July 26, 2022. So it's not quite been a full year since this service was available. (I lost the card and have applied for my second one...yeah, I lost my ID card weeks after I got it, but still have Autofil's letter that accompanied it...)

I'd also like to add that even libraries in smaller towns like where I live are catching on. Our local library has two full bookcases devoted to comics/graphic novels. For years I've been digging thru back issue boxes at the local comics store, trying to complete my run of Neil Gaiman's "Sandman". Found out that my local library has the full series (in trade paperback format.)

I was introduced to Hugo Pratt via a reprint series in English by NBM Publications in the late nineties, of the "Ballad of the Salt Sea" storyline. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. This kind of stuff isn't that easy to find in the United States. A lot of my exposure to European comics was from reading the magazine "Heavy Metal". Introduced me to people like Moebius, Guido Crepax, Milo Manara.(Overjoyed to find another comic nerd in Talossa...I started a club in Talossa for comic book aficionados, but no one joined...you are more than welcome to join!)

I must reluctantly report that the flag is a perfect flag for Talossa, double-sided and durable.  I recommend it.

I got my flag off eBay, it apparently came from some print-on-demand firm in China. I can't remember what I paid for it...maybe $12?...but it's not bad. However, when I type in a search for "Talossa flag" now, the only results are for refrigerator magnets (two results, for Kingdom and Republic flag magnets.)

In retrospect, those potatoes and corn look like they need some seasoning. At least a pat of butter.

I have already received a nice ten year certificate from Ian Plastisch, which proudly hangs from a magnet on my refrigerator (over top the menu from our local Chinese restaurant), but would welcome another signed by our King. (I think I'm actually approaching 12 years as a Talossan next month. I've been a Talossan longer than I've held a job at any one place...)
