Wittenberg / The Italian Pasta Rule
August 25, 2022, 09:03:06 PM
'The Campaign for North Africa' was published in 1978-ish, and it's so complicated it takes an estimated 1500 hours to complete.

Here is its most famous bit of instructions: https://youtu.be/X6zag8oBAZs?t=828

Wittenberg / Mike's Facebook post from 12 August 2022
August 19, 2022, 05:00:43 PM
Mike P. says:

One year ago today (12 August 2022), I checked myself into the hospital.  I'd had Covid for two weeks and I was not getting any better, instead I was finding it harder and harder to breathe.  Some of you will remember that I dropped off the face of the earth for a couple of months last year - during that time, I was on a ventilator and unconscious.  I was in a medically-induced coma for 28 days straight, and even after I was considered awake, I was in a very fogged-out mental state due to the medications I was on.  Between hospital treatment, acute care treatment, a second hospital stay for pneumonia and a month and a half of physical therapy, I was finally able to return home in January. After coming home, I had to use a walker and a cane until I could walk on my own and it was at least a month before I could tackle the stairs.  Today, I am probably 95% recovered physically. I think I probably look ungainly when I walk, and I walk more slowly and tire more quickly than I did pre-hospital, but the progress I have made up to now is very visible to me and I continue to grow stronger each day. I know many of you were praying for me, and I believe that has made the difference. Early on, one of the doctors told my wife that I was going to die. I feel thankful every day that he was wrong and that I am still here, and I am thankful that I have had such a supportive family - my wife, kids, siblings and parents all helped me get through the interminable hospital stay and therapy, and helped me get back on my feet after returning home, and I will always remember and appreciate that.
*Edited to add*: I also am grateful for the nurses, doctors and therapists who kept me going and helped keep my spirits up.

When I get the go-ahead, I'll copy-paste his public Facebook post (12 Aug. 2022) to this thread.  Suffice to say the last year saw the esteemed former PM and Leader of the Progressive Conservatives get a near-fatal case of COVID-19, a stark reminder this bug is no joke.

Mike is recovered to at least 95% of his pre-bug health, and his brain seems not to have been affected.

The world needs more people like Mike P.  He continues to be one of the best parts of Talossa, and I know I speak for all in sending prayers, vibes, and white light to him and his family.

As GV gets ready to give John a piece of his mind...

I actually admire, like, and respect John immensely.  I'm genuinely sorry it was Talossa and not real life through which I 'met' him and Hooligan.  Both seem like amazing people.  Ditto for AD.

That's all.

Wittenberg / Re: Monarchy Reform
August 03, 2022, 11:15:37 PM
As to MMP, MMMP, MmMmMmP, or whatever, I leave that to wiser brains than mine.

As to the King himself, the only thing I wish from him is at least some semblance of him giving the Republic of Talossa at least a bit of slack for the provocation for its very existence.  'Betrayed, Stolen, Kept' is still a sticking point with a number of us.  John could have put out that fire years ago, but continues to let it live on in the collective Talossan memory undisturbed.

Reunision happened de jure.  Reunision of the heart has never even come close to coming about, and until that happens, it will be a festering cancer - a cancer in the heart of Talossa.

As 7 days have passed and all votes were Për, I updated the Province Wiki to include the Symbols.

https://wiki.talossa.com/Fi%C3%B4v%C3%A2

You can see that I updated information about the Cantons and the Current Government too.

I concur.  Sorry for missing this, ya'll.  At the time this vote ended, I was in France with church choir.

"The opposition in the Cosa made it a centrepiece of the last election campaign to warn about a "crisis of immigration and inactivity" in Talossa. Does the Seneschal believe that there is a "crisis of immigration and inactivity" in Talossa today? And if he believes there is no longer such a crisis - what has been the current Government's role in restoring Talossa's fortunes?"

Never forget, fellow Talossans, the chief provocation for the 1 June 2004 Split / Republic-founding was Ben Madison's Wittenberg-public accusations of domestic violence against Chirisch Cavier (dal Nava).

To read more of this, look to 'A Nation Sundered' by yours truly.

MENCEI: Note my inclusion of the month and year in my reply-subject line.  We must always have the month and year as well as the Cosa and Clark in the subject line for debate and voting.  Many thanks, ESB!

Can the Minister of STUFF and Technology give us an update on the current state of the National Webspace and our national social media accounts, and an indication of her plans for them in this term?

GV, Senator for Fiova, posting to a Cosa Witt board possibly for the first time since before 1 June 2004

My church choir is taking a trip to France.  18 and 20 July are our two completely free days in Paris.  Let's see some Euro-Talossans!
