Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on December 11, 2022, 03:14:58 PM@Ian Plätschisch Seneschal, will the Government be providing any financial support to the BHAID directly as a part of this drive?

@Ian Plätschisch ?
I have been consulting with the cabinet and will get back to you. We have until next month, after all.

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on December 12, 2022, 04:12:01 PMOn the other hand, I'm not happy at the precedent set by a certain lawsuit which has made the SoS seemingly gunshy about doing any moderation.
I will remind everyone that the precedent set by the case in question was that Chancery moderation of Wittenberg posts is OK under certain circumstances:

QuoteCort shall come to order.

Unlike previous incarnations of "Wittenberg," the forum now located at wittenberg.talossa.com (henceforth referred to as Wittenberg) is Government rather than private property. While a private forum owner could moderate their forum in any way they see fit, regulation of Wittenberg must adhere to the Covenants of Rights and Freedoms. The fact that the Government is not required to provide forums beyond the minimum required for official business is irrelevant; everything the Government does is bound by the Covenants, and restrictions on speech on Wittenberg in violation of those Covenants would be cause for deep concern.

This does not mean that citizens may post anything on Wittenberg that they want. The First Covenant clearly does not protect speech that endangers public order. Further, it is more reasonable for the Government to regulate the use of its own property than the property of private citizens. If the Government is to control property, it must set rules so that the property can be used to accomplish the desired purpose. I am not allowed to graffiti on the side of public buildings or break out into bad karaoke while standing in line at the Department of Motor Vehicles, and yet my freedom of speech is not really restricted (I am still free to graffiti or sing badly on my own property or any other property that will tolerate it). Per Lex.J.2, the Ziu has determined that the purpose of Wittenberg is for users to socialize respectfully.

This Cort finds that this purpose and the accompanying rules (ie, the Secretary of State's ability to enforce Wittiquette) are not in conflict with the Covenant of Rights and Freedoms. This Cort also finds that the actions of the moderators in this particular case could be considered reasonable.

It is clear to the Free Democrats, and hopefully clear to the rest of Talossa, that the TNC's proposal on Monarchy reform would not have come about without FreeDem pressure. The boycott itself turned out not to be a good idea, but without the FreeDems constantly making noise about it, the TNC would have been happy to flush that particular campaign promise down the memory hole.

With regard to your quote of mine, I can at least admit it when I make a mistake. It takes two to tango, and the FreeDem's tango partner has never demonstrated any remorse (or even self-awareness) for their comparable snarky and unhealthy behavior.

Azul all,

As we enter campaign season, I thought now is a good time to go over the 57th Cosa Cabinet's record:

-We have conducted a trial run of Google ads to promote immigration
-We have successfully encouraged updates to TalossaWiki and made various improvements to talossa.com
-We have produced Talossan ID cards and certificates to commemorate citizenship anniversaries
-We have established communication with other micronations and starting coordinating with a documentary film crew
-We have demonstrated an ability to work "across the aisle", appointing S:reu Bråneu Excelsio as Defense Minister
-We have kept immigration running smoothly

We also have a variety of legislative accomplishments:
-RZ13, which removed the micronational "blacklist"
-RZ19, which simplified the method of electing the Seneschal
-RZ22, which cleaned up confusing finance law
-RZ27, which prevents Dandelions from becoming citizens without their consent
-And, perhaps most importantly, we finally got the TNC to engage meaningfully on Monarchy reform

I urge voters to compare what the TNC promises to what the FreeDems have actually achieved. Governing is harder that it looks and requires more than one or two people.

Alright, who would be interested? This will help me determine the format (difficulty of questions, Team vs individual, etc.)

Also, please let me know what times work.
