17th Convocation of the Assembly of Maritiimi-Maxhestic
Here we go.
Members, besides myself, are:
Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun
Cresti Nouacastra-Läxhirescu
Sir Alexandreu Davinescu
Our first order of business should be to entertain nominations for Grand General Secretary.
I'm glad you posted something. I was just about to start trouble... uhm, a thread. ;)
Is there anyone that wants to do the job?
Also, can anyone please tell me: WHY this colour palate? It makes my eyes hurt, and I mean that literally. Can I change this to nice shades of bright white, cream and beige, or something? I have finally changed the layout and look. This is nice.
For others who want to change the theme:

Or, by menu:

I can be GGS if no one else is interested
I second the nomination and given the time frame move that we go right to a vote.
If one other person supports the nomination, we don't need a vote
@Magniloqueu Épiqeu Ac'hlerglünä da Lhiun @Cresti d.I. Nouacastra-L.
I, too, support the nomination.
Ok, I think that settles it.
Apropos of nothing, since the PTB are afire about provincial mergers, I want to say that I am fully in favor of M-M absorbing other provinces (it is our right and destiny), but I have two preconditions that I think are absolutely necessary to such mergers:
1. We should add their cultural distinctiveness to our own, but not lose ours in the process. The province should remain named "Maritiimi-Maxhestic" in large part, symbolically recognizing our extraordinary history as a beacon of provincial activity and prosperity.
2. There should not be any diminution of M-M political power. This means we should aim for a provincial merger that maintains the political separateness of the entities in order to preserve our Senats votes, confederating them without obliterating either.

This would not be a merger in any real sense.
Indeed, I think we can reject citizen Davinescu's proposals as being full of grandeur and in bad faith towards other provinces. I have never liked M-M's tendency for overbearing and arrogant "provinciotism".
The post of Grand General Secretary is currently vacant. Please make a nomination to fill it.
I nominate myself, I guess.
I would like to nominate Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun
Ok, let's get going.
Vote for either Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun or Alexandreu Davinescu for GGS.
I vote for Alexandreu Davinescu
Y'know, I kinda feel like this is just partisanship with extra steps.
Does Epic know he was nominated?
He hasn't been active here for a few months. I sent him an email when he was nominated. If you have him on social or something, let him know there, too.
I vote for myself.

Case in point:
I vote for Epic. (Does he know he was nominated?)
Are you a member of the Assembly, by the way?

Oh God, I'm sorry. I'll remove my vote.

No worries! I am thinking, by the way, that we should also look at reforming the Assembly. This isn't the first time that a sudden rush of interest has descended on our province and some citizens have discovered they missed their chance to join provincial government. We should maybe look at asking the M3 to contact all provincial citizens directly via the database (which is an option in el Lexh already).

Ok, let's get going.
Vote for either Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun or Alexandreu Davinescu for GGS.
Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun gets my vote
The national election is over and it's almost time to start the 18th Convocation, so we should wrap up this vote. I don't see how the outcome is going to change either way, since either Epic votes for me or he votes for himself and then Ian P has to break that tie.

I would be a little uncomfortable ending the election before the customary two-week voting period expires unless there is broader agreement in the Assembly, even though I am not sure this Convocation of the Assembly has any more authority to conduct business now that the next one is ready to be convened.
If Epic votes for himself, I would not be in a position to break a tie (since I am no longer GGS), but the best thing to do in that situation would be to not elect a GGS in this election and try again in the 18th Convocation. We probably have to have a GGS election in the 18th Convocation anyway given the provisions of the provincial Constitution.
Okay. Then I guess I move that this Assembly be dissolved and the new one take up business.
