l'Etats / Re: Session for l'Etats 24-31 January 2022

No objections have been heard for the homesteading claims which now will be published on an updated map in the coming weeks.

I am assuming there will be an opportunity to have a short answer format (rather than multiple choice).  That takes slightly longer to mark but is a better method of evaluation.

Once a person has completed the test, then they in turn can be assigned to be a marker for a subsequent test by another person, which serves to reinforce the material - in this concept they would be exposed to other questions randomly assigned.

The final session is called to order for l'Etats through 31 January 2022.  My apologies for the delay in the launch.  I will publish an agenda later today.  The only thing I will bring is the confirmation of a couple new homestead sites.  Does anyone have any other business to bring forth?

PRELIMINARY AGENDA for L'ETATS SESSION Through 31 January

1.  Presentation of provisional homestead grants

There are two recent homesteading grant requests made to the Cézembre Land Office including:

Danihel Forestal for https://w3w.co/flimsy.soapy.strategy
and
Breneir Tzaracomprada for https://w3w.co/garble.ambient.slung

The CLO has determined both of these homesteads are properly distanced from other homesteads, and are within the zone Interdite as required by statute.  If there are no objections, then these homesteads will be added to the map and log (current version here).
If there are objections, these will be discussed by l'Etats and then the grant will be voted upon for approval.

2. TBD pending other requests from seated representatives and/or citizens (none pending currently)

Second call for additional agenda items.  A third call will be placed on 26 January, after which the agenda will be set.
Third and final call for agenda items.  Agenda will be set 27 January and any actions completed by 31 January

Hearing no additions to the January agenda, it is set with just one item. 1. A hearing of any objections to the preliminary grants from the Cézembre Land Office as follows.

Danihel Forestal for https://w3w.co/flimsy.soapy.strategy with coordinates matched in French at https://w3w.co/souper.montrer.houleux

Breneir Tzaracomprada for https://w3w.co/garble.ambient.slung with coordinates matched in French at https://w3w.co/cran.brossant.plancher

Should there be no objections from members of l'Etats then these grants shall proceed to finalization, map placement, and publication of the updated map.

Any citizen with an objection should contact any of the l'Etats members to bring forth that concern.  Any objections should be raised on or before 30 January such that there would be time within the session for discussion.  The current voting members are myself and

@Ián Tamorán and pending a 2nd representative for 5 FD seats
@Txosuè Éiric Rôibeardescù LCC
@Glüc da Dhi S.H. P

Yeah, I was just coming here to post that after posting it on talossa.net.

Talossan has a completely different grammar than English, one much closer to French. You can't "translate" by replacing individual words with their dictionary equivalents. For example, "celebratar" is the infinitive, "to celebrate"; you need the imperative, "celebratetz".

I know that the current grammar of Talossan might be heavy going for newcomers, but it's easier to read and understand than Ben Madison's grammar from 1996 which I learned out of. Everyone who wants to try to use Talossan should read it first, then ask questions.

Thanks I will adjust the penguin text when I get home this evening.   Tomorrow is Squirrel Appreciation Day 21 January so I could also create a graphic for that and appreciate any help with the translation.

So as not to conflict with the current or next Cosa session, and to conduct business such as homestead claim confirmations and other items brought forth from the RAK, I hereby call a session of l'Etats de Cézembre for 24-31 January 2022.

As might relate to legal discussion in other forums... I suppose I could take a cut at it and let others correct my flawed language skills while I learn - that is if this hadn't been done previously.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most translated document in the world, according to Guinness World Records. The six page document was produced by the United Nations in 1948, and has been translated into over 500 languages and dialects from around the world, ranging from Abkhaz to Zulu. The document outlined for the first time, the fundamental human rights to be universally protected. The premise is that all people, regardless of their race, religion, country of origin, or any other factor, are entitled to those rights enshrined within the document.

I will never, ever have time to do the deep-dives necessary to bring the histories of individual provinces to life, not even for Fiova and Maricopa.

I would love for one or more people in each province to step up and do this historical research on their own.

There's a bit in the Cézembre Administrative Guide but I will endeavor to assemble more.

Thank you for that, but what about the date-scheme I cited at the top of this thread?
If you are referencing when l'Etats meets then:
Article 10. L'Etats shall have power to pass any bill into law by a simple majority vote of its Voting Members. Le Sénéchal s hall send out a notification of voting period, of at least seven days. Each member shall have a prescribed amount of time in which to cast his vote (by email, telephone or forum post) before voting closes.
I have typically extended this to at least a fortnight.

If you mean a general history I will delve into that as well.
