I REALLY wish someone had told me that there was a HUGE error in this edition mentioning King Robert instead of King John. I sent the newsletter as I usually do, without proofreading, as this is the government's newsletter.

God forbid this sort of thing happen in the future, but supposing it does, what would be the proper course of action?

I could proofread myself, but I've always felt that it isn't appropriate for me to do so on government or party emails. I don't mind proofreading, don't get me wrong (I am an English teacher after all) but I don't want to step on the toes of ministers and party leaders. If you wish for me to be another pair of eyes, I'm willing.

I only realized there was an error after Count Hooligan emailed me thanking the kingdom for including the story about his beloved sister and wondering if King Robert returned to make the announcement :-)

Seriously, I would agree that it's the Government's job to proofread their own official communications.
