WHEREAS @Mic'haglh Autófil, MC EiP has made 20 edits to TalossaWiki and is thus entitled to a Day of Observance of his choosing, and

WHEREAS September 24th, 2022 is the 74th anniversary of the foundation of the Honda Motor Company, as well as the 113th birthday of influential automotive designer Virgil Exner, Sr.

THEREFORE I hereby declare September 24th, 2022 to be the Day of the Automobile, which Talossans who enjoy driving, maintaining, repairing, observing, or doing any other activity with their vehicles, motorcycles, or virtual vehicles may celebrate with their fellow enthusiasts.

Mic’haglh Autófil, SMC EiP

Of course I had a few things keep me from much time at home yesterday, haha.

Anyway -- I suppose I'm a little biased going in, having spent my entire engineering career so far in the automotive industry. When time, weather, and money permit, I do have a few things I enjoy spending any excess cash on:

2012 Chevy Sonic (daily driver), also featuring a 1987 VW GTI (not a daily).

1982 VW Rabbit Pickup (non-Americans may know it as a Mk1 Caddy), also seen here prior to a replacement of most of the coolant lines

1974 VW Karmann Ghia (ok, that's the last of the Volkswagens, I promise), along with a 1980 Honda C70 -- 42 years old and it just hit 3600 miles on Thursday.

These two belong to D:na Autófil, at least for now: 1983 Datsun 720 King Cab, and a 1983 Suzuki GS850L.

Fledgling license plate collection, featuring (L/R, top/bottom) Finland (pre-1996), Germany (Wiesbaden, expires June 1986), Germany (Wolfsburg, export plate valid until 31 Dec 2021), Pennsylvania (late 1980s), Pennsylvania (Truck, early 1980s), and the plates the DMV gave me with the Ghia, since my custom plate application hadn't gone through yet. The two PA plates are supposed to relate with the two 80s VWs, both of which were manufactured at the Westmoreland Assembly in western PA. Also please enjoy this picture of me getting to sit in my dream car at the auto museum up in Green Bay.

I could go on but it's time to let someone else talk, lmao

Nice, nice. Looks like the excess money has gone to good use.

Amazing!
The Golf has always been one of my favorites.
I've never had one but I love to get them in any videogame I can haha.
(I know it sounds weird to say you're a fan of a brand but Volkswagen has always been in my top 3 of anything along with Adidas)

That yellow motorbike is absolutely stunning. The more I look at it the more stories I start to imagine.
The chopper looks great great too, I confess I have looked at videos of just the sounds of motorcycles

and love how it ressembles the purring sound of big cats, lol

Great post!

My only contribution I believe is this picture of me from like 8 years ago, a still from a short film we made in school lol
that's me in my Nissan Almera 2004, my first car.

hmmm... i cannot offer any pictures of our "myška" (the car is dark grey, so we call it "a little mouse"), as i have none and probably will never shoot any ;) for me as a villager, the car is a tolerated necessity, but no hobby and none of us enjoy driving. we use the car only cos of the lack of local transport. buses to the city go mostly once an hour and do not allow you to transport much of a stuff when needed, e.g., during the weekend we visited our parents-in-law (230 km, locally seen as a serious distance ;) and we took the car, cos we moved some stuff back (ca 100 kg), but usually we take the train. in a city, i use 100% mass transportation, also when travelling long distances with trains being the most preferred, buses then and car or planes as a last resort. we here enjoy the near-perfect system of urban mass transport (a dense net of buses, trolleybuses and tramways in a 400k city). in a densely packed central europe (there is a village each 6 km, smaller town each 25-35 km), the car has a much negligible role that in let's say australia or US of A with vast uninhabited areas.

enjoy the day of the automobile though :)

As mentioned before, videogames, lol.
This are some of my favorites in GTA V.
First, the luxurious ones. Ferrari enzo with spoiler. Tesla Roadster. Shelby Cobra (i know this car from Age of Empires II, lol).
Down left is my favorite car to admire. BMW E30.  I got a classic VW too.
The hot pink van is an hommage to the famous and most expensive Hot Wheels model from the Original Sweet 16 cars made in 1968. Couldn't get a red line in the wheel tho. Yea :)
