El Glheþ Talossan / Glheþinaziun d'ar friul noveu
December 06, 2019, 08:31:13 AM
Update: The infrastructure for the glheþinaziun is now in place (see this post)

(yes, "friul" is not the right word but I couldn't resist using it... for some reason :P)

Right, so azul, estimats amíci Ladintschen. As I mentioned in the feature list, this new forum potentially allows for multiple interface languages to be installed. This clearly means there's room for a custom Talossan translation of the whole interface, if it's a project that people would be interested in.

(I'm also doing my code tweaks in a language-neutral way, so for example the "Latest 59" button should also be translatable by just editing the string file)

Oh, by the way, the Cjovani article was perhaps the best one to appear in La Sc'hinteia to date.

1) I'm looking into the mention by username thing, as it requires editing the PHP/JS code.
Update on this: the PHP part is done, I am now on the JS bit (which handles the little list of possible matches when you're entering an username to tag)
Final update: it works (I think)

2) We now have default Bicoloreu avatars like on Witt XI, but I can turn them off if you don't like them as they weren't really requested by anyone.

3) Figured I'd spend a word on moderators, since among the registrations so far we have a lot of people who could already moderate their own board (provincial governors, justices, Ladintschen, civil servants...). This is obviously the plan, but until the Chancery officially sets a policy on that, I'm not going to overreach and give privileged access to anyone.

Those definitely sound fun. I would probably take part at least in 4), and though I don't think I am particularly suited for the others, I would still be interested in watching the competition unfold.

Are there any plans to revive/continue the Talossalympic games we played last year?

El Viestül/The Lobby / Re: 54th Cosâ Cabinet

Congratulations to the new ministers!

Edit: also, in my capacity as Cabinet PermSec, I will see to it that the (admittedly limited) transition in addresses and credentials happens as soon as the King publicly gives his approval.

Hello everyone, just a quick heads up that I'm planning on upgrading the Wiki "soon"ish. We are several versions behind (1.23 vs 1.33) and an update is overdue. This is likely to take place this weekend.

What is the procedure for backing up the Wiki?  Of course, and if possible, I'd like to be able to back up the Wiki on my own at will.

The same as for this forum. Database dump for the content, root directory copy for the images/files.

The analysis of the election results would be more interesting if it diverged from the maths a little bit to questioning why the large surprises happened. The two "random factors" would IMHO be: (a) a truly sterling GOTV effort from the PNP; (b) the entire Ventrútx family neglecting to vote.
Well, regarding both but mostly (a), PNP was after all a party formed by two former RUMP party leaders. I would not be surprised if some of the more moderate ex-RUMP wing went PNP instead of ZPT (think Castiglha, da Bitour, Txechescu rather than Xhorxh and Holmes). Those that found peculiarism a step too far instead went AMP (Davinescu) or stayed with the ZPT.

Right, we now should have an operational "like" function, which I'm still tweaking to make it blend in a bit more.

Edit: forgot to say, "likes" have been disabled for the Cosa, Senate and Courthouse boards, for the moment. The final call on this will have to be made by the Chancery.

Something that may interest the Government, and that I totally forgot about, is that there is a newsletter function that might come in handy for sending out summaries of Witt activity. This is probably worth exploring when we're fully up and running.

Is it just me or does the thread close entirely after posting?

It does, but (fingers crossed) it shouldn't anymore.

Indeed, and incidentally, thanks for trying functionalities out, so that I can see if they work properly.

Quotes and code blocks should now be much more readable on the dark theme. The light theme was already mostly fine.

Heh, I can't post it here because the file it too big. Can this be changed?

Done, I have removed all limits on attachments. This is not ideal (I wanted at least a 8 MB cap) but we'll have to make do because SMF doesn't want to play ball with anything else than its defaults (or no limits at all).

Edit: ...or not? Apparently there *is* an 8 MB cap after all. Oh well, SMF works in mysterious ways, but at least it works.

Good call! I've added HTTPS redirects for talossa.com, Wittenberg and the Wiki.
