Post by: Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB on May 02, 2021, 06:14:02 PM
El Lex. B.2.2 states:

QuoteThe Ballot can also include for each referendum up to one 50-words essay per party with Cosa Members, each marked as being either in favor of the amendment or against the amendment. The argument's signatures are not counted in the 50 words limit.

This means that any party that had seats in the 55th Cosa may provide a 50 word statement on each referendum that will go on the ballot.

There are 3 referendums that will be on the upcoming ballot:

Each party that had seats in the 55th Cosa may submit either on this thread, via PM, or via email to talossachancery@gmail.com their 50 word statements.

FREE DEMOCRAT STATEMENTS

55RZ5 – The Self-Destructing Senäts Repeal (Organic Law Amendment) Bill

Vote PËR. Currently, all provinces conduct their own Senator elections unless they say otherwise. But a province without a functioning government can't conduct an election, nor ask for Chancery help, so can't elect a Senator! This bill restores responsibility for Senator elections to the Chancery, unless a province asks.

55RZ22 – The Amendment to the Organic Law (Seneschál Election Tweaks) Bill

Vote PËR. This bill allows people other than party leaders to be nominated as Seneschál; and a month of recess (no Clark) after the Seneschál election will now be voluntary rather than compulsory. These tweaks will make Seneschál elections faster and more flexible while preserving the current, successful system.

55RZ23 – The Due Process Reversion Amendment

Vote PËR.
This amendment was actually adopted by the Ziu and in referendum in October 2017! However, due to a miscommunication, when the Organic Law was totally rewritten in 2019, we reverted to the old text. This amendment repairs that error.

55rz5-
PËR. is the preferred option.
Unless otherwise mentioned, all provinces currently hold their own Senator elections.
However, a province without a functional legislature is unable to hold an election or seek Chancery assistance.
Unless a province requests it, this bill restores the Chancery's responsibility for Senator elections

55rz22-
We recommend voting PER
This law makes it possible for those who are not party officials to be elected as Seneschál and is now optional rather than obligatory a month of rest following the appointment of Seneschal. These changes would accelerate the Seneschál elections while maintaining the new and competitive structure.

55RZ23 –
It is preferential to vote PER.
This fixes a badly worded, outdated, law that got re-instated by accident during the adoption of the most recent version of organic law. Thanks to one keen-eyed justice we now won't be subjected to any cruel or unusual punishments and what-have-you.

I have added these statements to the ballot.

As of right now only two parties have added 50 word statements for the referendum. Time is getting short for any others.

To avoid confusion, can we unsticky this? @Dr. Txec Róibeard dal Nordselvă, Esq., O.SPM, SMM
This is for the previous election and we are about to enter a new cycle with new referendum party statements.
