It's funny that you have that theory because I wondered that exact same thing! The way that citizens of each city are trained to ignore the citizens and parts of the other, and it seems like pieces of each city are adjacent to one another but, if I remember right, no part of one city takes up the same space as the other.

For instance I don't remember anyone mentioning a building that was in Besźel and was in the same spacial location as a different building in Ul Qoma. So it very well could be a situation of "cultural delusion" which would explain why the process to visit is so strenuous, because they have to impress that delusion onto the foreigners.

But like you said, I want to read it again through that lens to see if it holds up.

No I haven't heard of Unholy Land by Lavie Tidhar, I'll have to add it to my ever growing reading wish-list lol

I've been wanting to read Perdido Street Station but haven't had the chance yet. I loved The City and The City though.

^ Statue Dedicated to Immigrant Mothers in Milwaukee's Cathedral Square

^ Interesting Circle Art Piece in front of USA Bank Square

^ Art Piece in front of the Northwestern Mutual Square

^ I don't really know what this is? Some kind of bridge or boat thing, but I like the bridge.

^ I also don't really know what this is...

I think the problem is you need the "direct link" from imgur, so the one ending in .jpg or .png etc.

For example:

instead of

Quote from: Ian Plätschisch on April 15, 2024, 09:16:52 AMHave we considered just asking the King who he would want his successor to be?

A concern of a lot of FreeDems is that, if the King picks, his selection would be unpalatable. If we ask in advance, we could see if that person would have broad support and then we can just amend the Organic Law accordingly, without all the red tape.

If only we knew someone who had the King's ear...

After getting caught up on the discussion, I think I agree with the Baron that King John should at least have the option to choose his successor, confirmed by the Ziu.

So my personal preference would be Option 2, amended to give King John 30 days to appoint a successor and step down. If one is not chosen within the appointed time, then the law will go into effect.

I agree that this less dramatic solution is much better.

With the concerns around this being a step towards losing the Monarchy altogether, I do think it needs some kind of "sunset clause" as Miestra suggested, to ensure the throne is filled in a timely manner and without the need for another amendment to the OrgLaw.

I will defer to @þerxh Sant-Enogat as he is the current Ministreu à STUFF, however I can say this is currently being worked.

These look great! And I've always been partial to the long flowing lines of Seal Script myself.
