Vuode / Estats Xhenerais
October 03, 2023, 12:50:31 PM
Well, since we have no presiding officer or premier and no moderator currently in Vuode I believe it falls to the Cunstaval to dissolve our current Estats Xhenerais (assuming I am reading the rules correctly). Once that is done I will create a thread for the purpose of claiming seats in the upcoming Estats Xhenerais. The really confusing thing here is that the previous leadership never updated the Wiki page so I don't even know which Grand Session is ending or beginning. More research will be needed.

Vuode / Happy to see
September 26, 2023, 07:38:23 PM
When I first joined Talossa I was assigned to Vuode and I was very excited. However my excitement quickly diminished about Vuode. It quickly became apparent that at the time there were only about 3 active citizens (including myself) and I was immediately thrust into a position of leadership that I was neither prepared for or truly wanted. As near as I can tell I was soon the ONLY active citizen still here after Viteu renounced his citizenship. I am so happy to see new citizens joining the ranks of the Vuodean citizenship and looking to take positions of leadership. I am currently the Senator of Vuode and since we currently have no presiding officer or premier and I think I may be the only active member of the Estats Xhenerais I will start a thread as soon as the national elections are complete for the happy citizens of Vuode to claim their seats in said chambers. Once that step is complete we will begin the process of electing a new presiding officer and premier and then...I will step back and watch Vuode become a thriving province!

Wittenberg / Problem with Witt?

Is there a known issue with Witt? The symbol next to each category that is supposed to let me know when there are new posts in that category has disappeared

El Glheþ Talossan / I need another translation
May 22, 2023, 08:14:52 PM
I looked it up on l'oversteir and found translations for the individual words but I am not sure how it would go together for proper grammar. I would like Talossan National Congress Knights translated please. I found Talossan translates to Talossan, National translates to Naziunal, Congress translates to Congreßeu and Knights translates to els cnec'hts. My best guess is Congreßeu Naziunal de Talossan els Cnec'hts

El Glheþ Talossan / Translation please.
May 06, 2023, 09:04:20 PM
I looked it up on l'oversteir and it gave multiple possibilities for each word. My Talossan Cycling Association team name is "Dead Last" (as in last place). How would I translate this into Talossan?

Wittenberg / My favorite books
March 25, 2023, 12:39:58 PM
Are there any Talossan language experts who would be willing to take a stab at translating the beginning of every one of the 14 books in the series? I would but even with l'oversteir I would get the grammar wrong so it would be horrible.

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose above the great mountainous island of Tremalking. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."

THE ORGANIZING OUR FINANCES ACT

Whereas our current system leads to chaos and
Whereas the people of Talossa deserve a more organized transition of government especially as it pertains to the nations finances
Be it enacted by the King, Cosa and Senats in Ziu an additional section to be numbered Section C 1.5.8 in El Lexh

The Organizing Our Finances Act

C.1.5.8 The burgermeister shall be required to submit a Final Financial Report 30 days before the end of the Cosa to include all expenditures during the Cosa.

Wittenberg / Financial reports
March 21, 2023, 09:03:14 AM
I have no idea how to word this properly but it seems to me that there should be some sort of law requiring an end of term financial report to be made out by the outgoing leadership rather than leaving it to the newly elected government to try and find all of the proper information. This would lead to a much more seamless transition to the next Cosa. I have been following along on the Terplaziums (sp) and it appears that some information needed for the financial report has been difficult to locate and the opposition is using that lack of information as a bludgeon against the current leadership. Should we consider a new law requiring a financial report be submitted before a certain point prior to the Cosa ending? I would also suggest that there should be a freeze on spending between the final financial report and the end of the Cosa to which it applies.

Wittenberg / CoA
March 03, 2023, 02:22:00 PM
I have been trying to upload my Coat of Arms and I keep getting a message saying avatars are not writeable. Not sure if it is a problem with my computer or the website as I see some people are displaying a CoA and others are not.

Wittenberg / Apolitical Justices
February 03, 2023, 07:57:23 PM
I wanted to put in my two cents worth on the issue of justices being apolitical. In a perfect Talossa I would 100% agree with the idea of all judges being apolitical, however this is not a perfect Talossa. Our population is very low and the number of "active" citizens in the country is only what maybe 20? Of those 20 maybe 15 of them are qualified for positions within the government which leaves a very small pool to choose from for cabinet, cosa, senat, ministers and justices. Some overlapping is almost a necessity, at least until such time as the Talossan population increases and more qualified, intelligent people become citizens. So for now the idea of a completely apolitical cort makes filling all other vacancies within the government virtually impossible. I would like to think that the current UC's are honest enough to judge based upon the law rather than their personal political beliefs, I do believe that any UC justice who feels strongly about any issue should recuse themselves. However simply voting in favor or against a bill should not be the deciding factor at this point. If being political were a disqualifying factor then UC justices should also not be allowed to vote in the annual elections as by doing so they are showing their political support for an individual or an individual party. So with this logic, any case brought against the TNC or the FreeDems would require any justice who voted for either party in the Cosa election to recuse themselves. Until such time as we can increase the population of qualified active citizens I feel it is unrealistic to call for a completely apolitical Cort. (Let the attacks begin)

Wittenberg / Talossan Election
January 17, 2023, 01:35:09 PM
Hey everyone don't forget to vote in the ongoing elections! If you are a citizen of Vuode please consider voting for Tric'hard Lenxheir for Senate! I support the TNC (for the most part) but with that being said I do support some sort of monarchy reform as a way of keeping our King more active in the countries affairs. No matter how you vote it is important that you take the time to vote!!! Good luck to all of the candidates and parties involved and here is to a peaceful, harmonious and enjoyable 58th Cosa!

A CALL TO ARMS

Whereas, the president of Russia has repeatedly thumbed his nose at international law, and
Whereas, Russia has illegally annexed 5 regions of the sovereign nation of Ukraine, and
Whereas, the Ukrainian people have shown their ability to defend their borders, and
Whereas, the Ukrainian people have shown their desire to remain free of Russian dictatorship, and
Whereas, the Ziu has already passed a Sense of the Ziu condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine which Russia has ignored.

Therefore, be it resolved, that the Ziu calls upon the Seneschal to declare that a state of war exists between the Kingdom of Talossa and the Russia Federation.

Let us stand with the brave people of Ukraine in their ongoing fight for freedom!
