Quote from: Blahaj on July 13, 2025, 04:48:38 PMHello! I am Senator Blahaj of the Republic of New Solace
The Republic of New Solace is a micronation located in Southern Wisconsin founded 21 February, 2025. Our system of government heavily differs from that of other nations in that we, rather then having a single head of state such as a president, have a Senate of 5 individuals.
Though our nation is a mere few months old we have gone far in this short time, including currently 9 recognitions from other states (and more in progress). we had a amateur rocketry program that ended a few weeks ago, including 4 successful launches.
We look forward to interacting with, and possibly forming Diplomatic Relations with others.
Sincerely, Senator Blahaj of New Solace

Would there be opportunities for collaboration between citizens on literary or other cultural projects? We have a poetry contest (El Pretz Per Tomas Poetry Prize) which will be in its fourth round next year which could take entries from New South Scots as well. We also have several issues of a local cookbook called the Talossan Book of Cuisine which would be open to submissions. Finally, there is a Talossan YouTube channel called Fora Talossa which has an ongoing cultural video series called Currents which is open to video submissions.
Quote from: mpf on July 09, 2025, 06:30:44 AMI personally think that Senats candidates should be selected as follows, if there is more than one candidate:
50% of the vote is by members of the party within the province, and 50% of the vote is from members outside of the province.
Senators represent a province, sure, but they are also important safeguards for the Cosa.
Let's say that there are 3 members of the party in the province, and two of them are in a sort of fringe sub-branch. They propose one of them, while the party backs another.
They would get 2/3 in the province, which is 67%, but the rest of the party all vote for the other member (who has 1/3).
2/3 + 0 = 33.5% of the total vote
1/3 + 100 = 66.5% of the total vote.
The province still has a say, they are 50% of the vote, but that way, the party can make sure that the backed senate candidates trully represent the party.

Quote from: Antaglha Xhenerös Somelieir on July 14, 2025, 09:35:57 PMI would like to propose, that should the above motion fails, we hold a vote on whether or not, with the state of the party right now, we should dissolve the party under the rules of our constitution, or if we should continue.
Quote from: Iason Taiwos on July 16, 2025, 04:01:38 PMI'm wondering if Talossa should join the Antarctic Micronational Union, and press our claims.
