Am I the only one who instantly thinks of Starship Troopers anytime someone mentions Buenos Aires?

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on August 01, 2023, 08:41:16 PMSafe travels! There won't be a bloodless coup seizing power while you are gone, and you will not return to armed troopers who take you into indefinite secret custody.  Sorry, wait, was that a weird thing to say?  Never mind.

That is correct Baron, the coup will be quite bloody, and the custody, not-so-secret :-D

But in all seriousness, enjoy your trip Breneir!

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on July 31, 2023, 03:53:02 PMOkay! So I think Twitter is fixed and embedded again.  Not the app -- try Bluesky, folks! -- but our embed of it.

For those reporting issues with the Twitter embed, could you please confirm it is now working for you? @Carlüs Éovart Vilaçafat @Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB @Miestră Schivă, UrN

Also thank you @Baron Alexandreu Davinescu for getting those back issues of La C'hronica posted!

I am seeing it again. Thanks for working your magic @Baron Alexandreu Davinescu and getting La C´hronicǎ updated!

Quote from: Mic'haglh Autófil, SMC MC EiP on July 27, 2023, 10:18:44 PMI can confirm that La Tascaragnhă Nouă is returning to production, been drafting a few articles over the course of the week.

That's wonderful news! (no pun intended!) I can't wait to see what you and Zach have in store!

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on July 27, 2023, 08:58:45 PMAnyway. Carlus I am wondering why I am able to see the Twitter plugin working fine and Miestra as the one reported user having issues can not see it working. Are others reporting issues?

It is really strange that you are seeing it because it is broken for me as well. Is anyone else still seeing the Twitter feed on the website? Please let us know!

Yes, I was not aware, which as you rightly point out is an oversight on my part, and I apologize. I'm working to get the missing La C'hronicas added to the site as soon as possible. Hopefully those that needed or wanted to see them, saw them posted here on Witt or received them by email.

As far as the Twitter feed (I totally echo your feelings about calling it "X") it appears that Twitter has made recent changes to their API breaking the feed. We are currently working on a resolution.

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on July 27, 2023, 01:08:13 AMSadly there are no "private enterprise" newspapers functioning, but the Government-issued monthly La C'hronica fills the gap: https://talossa.com/lchronica/

(Incidentally, attention Minister of STUFF: LC doesn't appear to have been posted on the National Website since March?!)

I was not aware, thank you for bringing this to my attention!

Wittenberg / Talossan Geocaches
July 12, 2023, 11:00:14 AM
In case anyone is interested, I was contacted by someone who has setup several Talossan geocaches!

I've never tried geocaching myself, but this is the information they provided:

QuoteBTW, if anyone is interested in the Talossa geocaches, the cache page for the final one is at https://coord.info/GC9FD6P  It has the links to the cache pages for the other eight caches that must be completed and found in order to get the information necessary to locate the final.  To see the cache page and play the Wherigo cartridges, you would have to register at Geocaching.com  Registration and the Geocaching and Wherigo apps are free but limited in the number of caches you can see.

Quote from: Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB on July 06, 2023, 01:12:17 PMSorry if you felt blamed or something. I didn't even understand the bill at first either. I just wanted to make sure this bill isn't entered as law yet.

Thanks!

No worries at all! I'm glad to learn one of the quirks of our legal system :-)

Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN on July 05, 2023, 04:51:37 PMI quote from Organic Law VIII.3:

QuoteThe Ziu may enlarge the number of seats designated Puisne Judge to no more than eight, and may decrease the number of seats designated Puisne Judge to no less than two, provided that, in addition to the requirements for other legislation, two-thirds of the Cosa and a majority of the Senate support modification in two consecutive Cosas.

The Organic Law says we have to pass it again with the same majority in the next Cosa for it to take effect. It's a pretty unique provision in our constitutional law, but it's there. The aim is to prevent Cort packing.

Thank you for the clarification and I apologize for my own ignorance. I'll update the original post.

Quote from: Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB on July 04, 2023, 09:52:23 AMI'm sorry, but RZ21 was not passed into law. It cannot take effect until a second passing of the Ziu in the next Cosa.

In the database for Clark 4, RZ21 is in "Statute" status like the other 2. That's what I was basing it off of. Is the status of RZ21 incorrect or does it not mean what I think it means?

I reconvened with the armiger and have adjusted the blazon thusly:

QuotePer fess indented, or and vert. In chief a laurel of coffee branches proper, in base a bar argent and tiger passant proper langued gules.

Quote from: Sir Txec dal Nordselvă, UrB on June 27, 2023, 10:58:41 AMUnder the rules of heraldry, you can't place a color on a color. The blue bar placed on top of the green background does not provide sufficient contrast. Check rule 2.1 and 2.2 on this. The blazon and emblazonment won't pass muster.

Understood, I will work with the armiger and resubmit. Thank you for your review and guidance!
