The Wheel of Time in my mind has always been punctuated with "MUD" because The Wheel of Time MUD is one of the longest running Multi-User Dungeons still in existence. I've never actually played it (I'm more a fan of Achaea myself) but that was pretty much my only exposure to the Wheel of Time series until now.

I started watching the new Wheel of Time show on Prime Video and it inspired me to read the book. Not long after I started listening to the audiobook version, I quit watching the show because it was so much better!

I just finished the audiobook for Eye of The World and it was great! The world feels large and expansive, while at the same time it is clear that the world the characters actually experience is very narrow; there are rumors that change in detail depending on who's telling it. There are mysteries just hinted at, that may or may not be explored in later books. Even the influence of the queen only goes so far in her own queendom because it is so vast.

All-in-all I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm sad that it's taken me so long to enjoy this classic!

Has anyone else read any of the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan?

Below is the text version per aceßivalità:

QuoteOn this day, the Culture and STUFF Ministry is pleased to announce the revival of the Cultural Initiative Support Fund. The fund will offer micro-grants to private cultural proposals. Restoring this program is a part of increasing the presence of private cultural endeavours.

The Culture and STUFF Ministry has requested $100 in the 58th Government Budget. Upon budgetary approval, the Ministry will publish an application form for interested individuals and groups.

I see, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on February 12, 2023, 06:49:00 PMI've moved forward with this in my capacity as an MC. Does anyone feel any particular way about reversing the color dispositions of the flags?

-NRH

I know it's probably a little late, but what is the reasoning behind switch the colors? My original idea of having the Cosa be 2/3 Red vs the Senäts being 2/3 green is based on the idea that the Senäts is a higher "house" and therefore closer to the King. The green in the flag symbolises the Monarchy and its magnanimity, while the the red stands for the Talossans and their tenacity. Similar to the House of Commons/House of Lords distinction in the UK Parliament.

EDIT:
I see the originals had the Senäts and Cosa on the red and green respectively, but the new way makes more sense to me, as explained above.

I've seen the MST3K version once a long time ago.
I wish I could but between work, kids, and school, my schedule is pretty hectic right now.

Quote from: Baron Alexandreu Davinescu on March 13, 2023, 08:02:16 AMI've actually never seen Manos, and I probably should.  Count me in.  We should advertise this possible event on our social media -- folks almost never see opportunities for upcoming things like this, unless they happen to catch the thread.

This is a perfect candidate to leverage our new Cultural Promotion Policy!

a)
Els Ministreu es Distain Ministreu à STUFF.

b)
Yes, his comment was specifically in relation to scheduled posts celebrating and educating the public on Talossan culture. Obviously there may be times when this "scheduled rate" is exceeded, for instance while providing updates during a national emergency such as the recent Wittpocalypse, or announcing cultural events in line with our new cultural promotion policy.

c)
As stated in our recent cultural promotion policy, it is the perogative of the current Ministà à STUFF to leverage the entirety of the Kingdom's social media presence.

With that being said, the Kingdom's Facebook account was disabled and locked down during the resent government change over, and I would thank the previous Ministreu à STUFF for assistance in rectifying this situation for the good of the Kingdom. @Mic'haglh Autófil please PM me when you have a chance.

d)
"Near spam" level is a subjective determination which does not lend to objective analysis. A review of recent posts shows they include Cabinet updates, celebrating Talossan birthdays, Witt/Talossa.com system updates. None of these types of posts, nor the frequency at which they have been made, would seem to fit the traditional definition of spam.

e)
As Ministreu à STUFF, I personally view the leveraging of the Kingdom's social media presence as an end unto itself regardless of whether or not it actually increases the Kingdom's visibility. Even if we don't reach a single extra person, the people we do reach will be better informed of the state and richness of our Kingdom.

Filosofiçind aside, tracking KPIs is the only way to know if what we are doing is actually making a difference, or if we're simply spinning our wheels for the fun of it (or not). With that in mind, and with the help of the Infotecă (thanks to the new Distáin!) we will be tracking follower counts and immigration numbers as our KPIs.

Quote from: Viteu on February 13, 2023, 03:21:05 PMThis entire manufactured outrage of someone equating being an a*sh*le with masculinity sounds pretty #NotAllMen to me.

1. My offense isn't manufactured just as, I assume, your offense at "gay erasure" isn't manufactured.
2. Taking offense is not the same as being outraged. Words have meanings.
