hello does anyone know what's the best linux version for my chromebook Samsung Chromebook 3 (CELES-500C) i do not want to use gallium os because xfce looks ugly

I don't know offhand - in my experience Chromebooks can be temperamental hardware-wise so you may have to do some tinkering if you don't want to use Gallium

Gallium is just Xubuntu, right? Couldn't you install KDE or whatever from the Ubuntu repos?

I use Lubuntu which is basically Ubuntu with LxQT window manager. It's low resource like XFCE but looks way better IMHO. You can check it out here: https://lubuntu.net/ (https://lubuntu.net/)

And you should be able to install it with apt-get
