Applicant Name: Laurens Hughes
(This applicant, for public life within Talossa, has opted to use a name different from that of their legal name. Their true and legal name has been collected by the Ministry and shall remain confidential.)
Gender:Nonbinary
Year of Birth: 2003
Location: (City redacted. See notes) - WI.
About Myself:I like reading, writing, music, the whole shebang. I *love* history. I'm nonbinary, so equal rights and a world free of hate is the most important thing to me. I hope to be doing something creative for a career, soon - for now, I work in the esteemed job of food service.
Do you have any previous experience with, or membership in, any "micronations"? NO
Is it okay if Talossan citizens contact you by e-mail? YES
Is it okay if Talossan citizens contact you by telephone? NO
Why I am Interested in Becoming a Talossan: Everyone has a need to be an active part of something, a group or a project or a micronation, in this case, even if it *is* a little tongue-in-cheek. Everyone has the need to belong. Talossa is the perfect oppprtunity to fulfill that - and have fun with it, too!

Azul and welcome to Talossa!
Laurens has contacted me asking that their city information be redacted as they are a minor (in the US).
I have explained that the immigration forum is not public and that only approved forum members can see it and that it won't show up in search results.
I've also explained that at 16 they are not considered a minor in the eyes of Talossan law.
I've checked our immigration law and it does say postal information can be redacted for under 18's "except for information needed to assign the applicant to a province". This is tricky, because the Wisconsin counties are split among different provinces for this purpose.
However, I think what I could do is honor the request to redact the city info and make a declaration in place of it stating which province Laurens should be assigned to and request the Chancery to speak to me directly in private if there are any problems with this.
Thanks for having me! Honestly did not think I was going to apply for citizenship in a micronation, but here I am. Life has a funny way of turning plans upside down.

For many of us here, the same was true. A lot of people become Talossan on a whim. Some people do lurk about for a while before joining, but spur of the moment applications do happen.
Welcome to Talossa!

When I wrote the law, I had in mind that the applicant's county would be posted if they lived in Wisconsin (except Milwaukee county which is a special case). Of course I don't get to decide how it is enforced but maybe this will provide guidance.

Cool. Thanks.
Well, what happened was that Laurens made the application putting the city, but not the county, on the form. I knew that Wisconsin had different rules, so included that info on the public post (being from the UK I didn't know that the city was different from the county). After their redaction request, I removed the data from public view, then went to look up the provincial assignment lists. At that point I found out that I hadnt been provided with county info, so googled the city to find out what county it was in. From that I could see that Benito is the province that Laurens would go to.
I could have just changed the city name that was provided to the county name. But, I erred on the side of caution and just made a full redaction with a declaration that the provincial assignment should be Benito. The Chancery can contact me if it's *needs* to know the county name to confirm that assignment.

American Revolution, mostly. I like the whole general era of mid-1700's through the Civil War, but that revolution is the most interesting to me. French Revolution is an honorable mention, though it's not quite as easy to study, given it's not exactly a period of time that's clean-cut (unlike King Louis's head)
