Coming soon: the second season of the Talossan Cycling Association Tour. After a succesful first season with 7 teams participating, Talossas favourite fantasy sports event returns, this time completing the trilogy by doing all three grand tours.
The registration window for each leg may be short (usually opening less than a week before the deadline), so team managers are advised to put the dates in their agenda! Instructions for registering your team will be posted in advance for each leg.
Last year the first edition (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=1528.0) was won by Naziun Cjovani from Benito, the team led by Iason.
The second edition (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=1705.0) was won by Gordon Hiatus Support Team, also from Benito, led by Lüc.
The overall season was won by the Fiôvân team Kinetic Racing, led by Audrada.
This time, hopefully we have even more teams participating, with maybe more provinces being represented as well. Don't worry if you didn't follow cycling before. Everyone is welcome to register a team, everyone has a chance to win and of course regular updates about the scores will be provided here on witt.
(For the first leg I'm also expecting live on location commentary from Lüc!) ;D
Registration deadlines:
May 6th - Leg 1: Fossacesia -> Rome
July 1st - Leg 2: Bilbao -> Paris
August 26th - Leg 3: Barcelona -> Madrid
More information soon!
I am looking forward to this a lot! I got deeply invested in this last time.
If this is just for fun and no money is involved I may join in, but I know nothing about cycling
Naziun Cjovani is willing to merge with the Gordon Hiatus Support Team to represent a United Benito in this latest event. (It's all yours, Lüc. Too much personal stuff is going on right now for the Cjovani to front their own team.)

Despite my best efforts, people refuse to bet on stuff with me. It's just for fun -- and it is very fun, even though I don't know anything about cycling, either!

Yup, no money involved, just eternal glory.
(Unless you count the big supermarket chain
money laundering scheme "sponsorship" team BdC is desperately trying to attract.)
Okay then someone remind me and hopefully there will be an explanation as to how this works LOL

It is fully understandable that personal matters take precedence. I hope you are doing ok.
Even so, it is a great loss for TCAT to no longer have the already legendary Naziun Cjovani competing

Of course! I will post a fuller explanation when registrations open.
Briefly: we use a site called velogames.com to select teams of 9 riders using 100 credits. These riders then go on to compete in a three week cycling race, scoring points for their team along the way by winning stages, points that can be gained during the stage, and ranking in various classifications.
The first leg will follow the 2023 Giro d'Italia (more info here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giro_d%27Italia) or here. (https://www.giroditalia.it))
Velogames will provide us with the scores, but I (and I hope Lüc as well) will provide regular updates on witt as well of course.
Selecting a team shouldn't take much time, though it depends if you want to do any research in advance of course. Because we are all limited to 100 credits and the rider values tend to pretty accurately reflect the general consensus on how well a rider will do it is very possible to do well or maybe even win without any prior knowledge.
Kinetic Racing will be participating.
GHST is obviously in. Dunno about live on location commentary yet because they aren't exactly passing by Padova or Pordenone, and I don't own a car.

Yes, but how about... a bike?

Neither me nor my bike (well, my dad's bike) are equipped to make the 1000m climb to the Cansiglio KOM of stage 18 :/

On an unrelated note, there isn't any team from Maricopa represented in TCAT yet...
