Taking place across the globe on Saturday June 3rd are the World Quizzing Championships (https://quest.quizzing.com/enter/season/100016/quiz/100448) (after a 5 year hiatus where I played, I am back as one of the writers)
If you don't see one in your area and can identify a trustworthy person to be an independent proctor this can be setup at a local library, conference room, park shelter, etc - any where people can sit and write for a couple of hours. PM me for details - the quiz is translated into about 14 languages each year.

It would be great to proclaim a Talossan Champion to go along with all the other national champions. Not only that but there could be a Talossan Category Champion for the categories of Culture, Entertainment, History, Lifestyle, Media, Science, Sport, and World. The quiz allows 1 hour for each half of 4 categories (typically 2 of the academic and 2 of the popular culture ones) each category has 30 questions, there will be 240 total questions. Allow an additional 15 minutes for marking - people typically swap papers while the proctor reads the answers, so the total would be about 2.5 hours (although if all at a particular venue agree they can shorten the time per half). Here are all the rules (https://www.worldquizzing.com/wqc/rules/) and there are sample questions here (https://www.worldquizzing.com/wqc/questions/)
This is a difficult quiz, with a great variety of temporal and geographical balance.
