It seems to me that cycling has become quite popular in Talossa. Maybe it's time to hit the road.
If TCA created a Strava Group, I would be interested in joining. Anybody else interested?

I sure would like to join.
Good idea Audrada ! Or may be a more general Talossa Sport Association (Talossan Olümfic ?) where all types of sport would be accepted ? Running, indoor rowing, etc.. the only problem would be to show on Strava to all my co-citizens that I am even worse in real sports than in virtual races
Edit : creation of new Club is possible, I can create an admin account and share it, we have to decide of a name and if we want to make this club invite-only or open to all
What do you think ?
I think we should run this by
@Glüc da Dhi S.H. He seems to be the one running TCA.
I think he and Luc are a joint partnership for TCAT®™©
As for who can be in the club, I'd prefer invite only. I don't mind Talossans knowing where I am but I don't want weirdos knowing where I am. Well, I don't want non-Talossans weirdos knowing where I am. Haha!

Well I run TCAT with Lüc, but not TCA. The Talossan Cycling Association dates back to talossa.proboards times. It was
@Iason Taiwos who suggested the TCA should sponsor the event when I proposed a fantasy tour de france league which then became TCAT.
I just did some digging, and it seems Iason is also the founder of TCA but later you were asked to head the association. Also there was some talk about a strava group previously and a facebook group? (This all happened in 2018/19)
So yeah, I'm not entirely sure who actually is in charge of TCA now, but I don't think it's me. (Not that I would have any objections to the strava group).
Now I remember. I did ask to head the TCA awhile ago. I don't want to run things. I would like to join the Strava Group.

The TCA was originally founded (if I remember correctly) when Vitxalmour Conductour and I discovered a local bike trail near his house, and one day decided to actually bike it. (As of right now, the Greenway Trail, as it's called, is in the process of being expanded from the Ohio River to Lake Erie.) We came up with our version of an epic race, the Tour of Lisbon (the town that is in the center of the Greenway Trail as it is now.) Well, we're both fat and out of shape, so we only ever biked the entire trail once (nearly killed us.) I shortly thereafter passed the reigns of the "organization" on to Audrada, who appeared to bicycle way more often than we do. As she does not wish to be in charge of it, I guess it falls back on me. (I don't want it. I'm getting old, I get worn out driving a car for any time longer than twenty minutes.)
@Iason Taiwos How long is the Tour of Lisbon? We might be able to make a Strava Challenge out of it. When did you plan on doing the Tour?
I suppose I could set up the Strava Group and get the ball (or the wheels) rolling. I don't plan on heading the organization forever but I know my way around Strava.
Does anybody have a TCA logo?
EDIT: Apparently, I don't know my way around Strava. I was able to create a Club from my phone before. I can't do that now. If someone else can do it, let me know. I'm ready to roll.
Below a logo made by Iason at the time ?

Creating a group is apparently now only possible from a computer, not a phone. Tell me if you need help.

The trail is 12 1/2 miles from Lisbon to Washingtonville, so the Tour would be a round trip of 25 miles. As to when, we'd wanted to do it once a year. We did do it once a few years ago, and have never gone back! (After not having ridden a bike for years, it took me a week to recuperate from suddenly riding 25 miles!)
25 miles (about 40 km) would be a nice, reasonable distance for a time trial. At least it is for me. Would be nice to find a way to honour the original Talossan cycling race.

I'm actually looking at a few bikes here at the shop downtown, I would be up for joining as well. Sort of a general Talossan Athletics Association, possibly? (I'd say Talossan Fitness Association, but that acronym is
cough taken.)

You're not that far away from me. Maybe we could set up a mini group ride sometime.

I thought about mentioning that, but it's not my place to be implying your location on a public forum (regardless of how vague I'm being about it, lol). That said, I was thinking the same thing. :D
Go easy on me though, it's been several years since I've done any major cycling...
I'll DM you and we'll see if we can set something up. ;)
Hello Talossan friends of all sports !
For those of us who don't mind sharing their location, "Talossa Desports C'hlub" is created on Strava, multi-sports, invite only.
Of course, I can share admin role on request

Request sent. I'm ready to roll!
So,
@Audrada Roibeardet @Bråneu Excelsio we are 3 members in the Strava group for the time being, do you have an idea of a group challenge which could attract more citizens ?
I thought of a challenge to
draw the nicest, biggest or funniest red-line picture on Strava's map while walking, running or biking (excluding nsfw pictures obviously), end of 1st season on March 6th (Michelangelo's birth date). United Athletic Artists And Artistic Athletes of Talossa, we would create a specific thread to post our pieces of art, what do you think ?

Sounds fascinating, I'm in!
I'm not that creative. I'm looking forward to seeing your art pieces, though.

Hahahah I dropped my phone a week ago, I didn't know it was still confused by the bump
So about 5 months ago, I started running. I've kept it up, and I like it even though it's miserable on a hot day like this. This app is for keeping track of that stuff... But does it have to be public? I've been a little shy about that stuff ever since someone in a different political party in Talossa tried to get me fired by emailing my boss and lying about me. Now I try to keep a slightly better handle on my exposure in that way.

Dang, that's scary.
Well, Strava lets you choose to hide the first 200-1600m from your starting and finishing points.
Also, it may display your info only to people you follow and follow you, so if you join the Strava Group, we'll have to follow you and only after you follow us back we will be able to see your ride (with your hidden start and finish points)
"I've tried to draw the Chinese word 賁, pronounced 'Ben,' which means 'energetic, strenuous, brave,' etc. For obvious reasons, this character, 'the Ben Symbol,' became part of our Talossan coat of arms."
Would you know of a more walkable Talossan symbol ?
Join the challenge on Strava with the Talossa Desports C'hlub !
