I'm so inspired of that launch and want to ask your opinion. What do you think about it guys? Is it new era of
astronautics?
I hope it is part of the next phase of space travel.
It is not, as such, a completely new step - but a pushing forward from what we have to where we could be. I am old enough to remember the first moon landing - my wife and I, just married, listened enthralled to that adventure unfold. That, too, was a pushing forward. The first step, though, was the realisation (by mankind) that such travel was - is - possible.
I am always a little doubtful about commerce - but if commerce gets us there, then let's use it!
To quote Buzz Lightyear - To Infinity and Beyond!
If I were given the chance to travel to Mars, even if I knew I would die before I came back, I would take that opportunity without an instant of further thought.
"Out there" is where we belong - all of us, in some way or other.
The U. S. is where it should have been twenty years ago, but the American public is incredibly short-sighted. Of course, Elon wants to make money, but the other reason why this is finally happening is President Trump wishes it. Alas, it is for nationalistic reasons this mission has been allowed to happen and not altruistic or scientific ones, as much as the astronauts would say otherwise.
Nevertheless, it is glorious to see Space X's success, and I wish Blue Origin and other outfits the same.
Any interest in restarting BEER?
