OK I'll bite. How are European plates more functional than U.S. plates? It seems more an opinion of taste than actual function.
Besides U.S. plates are more aesthetically pleasing. European plates are just a boring white rectangle.

Well, yeah, but if I want someone to make NA-style plates for me I'd have to order from the US and considering I'm in Germany I would go for the cheaper option.

Most new ones do have space for all kinds of plates. There are also US-style European plates, which will be a cheaper option for me I guess as I don't feel like buying something from overseas.
