@Ruthharris ! Welcome to our Kingdom (and to the beautiful Province of Cézembre) !
As you can see above, we have posted your application on the forum (without your contact information) for other citizens to see. They will ask you questions and you can ask them questions. This is so that you can get to know us and we can get to know you.
After 15 days from your first forum post, if you have proven to be an active and interested prospective citizen, one of the current citizens will petition the Royal Chancery to grant you full citizenship.
Note! It is very important that you are active in discussions on Wittenberg if you want to become a citizen. If you can't see discussions that interest you, feel free to start your own.
Please also see the New Citizens Guide (https://talossa.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/New-Citizens-Guide.pdf) and Qet Paßa (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=2911.0) for general information and an activities guide for Talossa.
We are happy to have you in Talossa!
Wishing you all the very best,
þerxh
Hello and thank you! I will have some reading to do to understand Talossa more fully. I would be very interested in how citizens understand their personal citizenship of Talossa culturally, and how it intersects - or does not - with any other citizenship they hold?

You know, I've considered that myself. Basically, I have very radical IRL politics and I totally reject all ethnostates. Talossa is like a "pretend ethnostate". Once I even put down "Talossan" as my ethnicity on the census. I think Talossa shows up the ridiculousness of all ethnostates, and the extent to which a nation is, in Benedict Anderson's terms, an "imagined community", even an imagined ethnicity. And why not? We have our own language, our own dialect of English, our own cultural touchstones. Hell, in the Cjovani we even have our own sub-ethnicity.
AZUL!

Citizens have approached their joining of Talossa in various ways (mine was introduction through a group that plays the game Diplomacy) and the freedom to be creative in the Kingdom is unlimited.
Thanks for your responses everyone. I am interested myself in the boundaries (artificial in my view) between the 'imaginary' and the 'real', considering the majority of things humans say give their life value are intangibles such as emotions, religions, beauty, art, etc. 'Imaginary country' ...particularly interesting given all countries are arguably imaginary when you think of the agreed 'border', national character, etc.
For me Talossa is not a country seperated by a border with my real country, I consider Talossa to be a kind of parallel space/time, where I can escape (sometimes when I shouldn't) from my "real" life, asynchroneously interacting with a community ruled by different laws. I don't travel from one country to another, I live in both, like a fortunate Schrödinger's cat.
@Ruthharris You seem like a nice person. Now if you do want to become the best thing money can't buy (aka Talossan) you need to be active. Then when 30.06. hits one of us will make a citizenship petition for you.
Anyway, another Cézembrean welcomes you!

[I joined Talossa after seeing a post about the language on the old Duolingo forums (may they rest in peace). Now it's the primary reason I talk at all.]
Thank you everyone! I think my starting point will be the language basics as that's a particular interest of mine. I can see from the wiki there are some books about Talossan history, but wondered if there were creative works as well (and where to find then?)

Guess you could count the El Pretz per Tomas Poetry Contest as some sort of creative work.
You can also contribute yourself, like me for example (check my wiki page which is in my signature below, highlighted as a hyperlink).
I put together this page some time ago, and it is a pretty good record of most Talossan literature. As you can see, there is very little Talossan fiction. There have been some attempts, such as Talossa 2099 (may not be the exact title) that started a story of a distant Talossa in the future, but not much.

Ah great, thanks for sharing!
