When I was 12 in 2002, a tech guy helped my father install the family computer in the living room, but in 2004 I got my first personal computer for myself and I remember that the tech-guy gave me like 5 cds full of mp3s. Those were very random selections of music, they felt amazing, those were my first mp3 files.
I remember I liked one song in particular called "Mucha policía, poca diversión", "Lots of police, little fun" from Eskorbuto. They were from Basque Country and I found them to be a lot of fun, talking about the end of the world and how humanity is doomed and such. They sounded awful, they barely knew how to play the instruments but they sang with all their heart and it was their truth. Basque Country has a very interesting history which I learned about because of them.
They released like 5 albums in 3 years and the two biggest rockstars died. The drummer is alive and has a punk legend status, he visited my city last year and I wasn't even aware of that at the moment :(

I grew out of being a teenager but I never grew out of loving Eskorbuto (Scurvy).
I have other bands very close to my heart but I think that was my first "favorite band ever".
