Title: Coronation Public Discussion
Post by: King Txec on August 28, 2024, 01:10:30 PM
Azul,

Please use this thread (I will sticky it) to discuss the upcoming transition and coronation. The thread in the Coletx d'Armeux Rexhital should only be used by members of the Coletx.

Thanks

I think it's a really good idea to create some kind of commemorative memorabilia for sale. Txecplates has a nice ring to it. Nice way to fundraise for the Kingdom and for everyone to secure a piece of Talossan history.

Might also be interesting to send official invitations to other monarchs and micronational leaders who might attend the coronation ceremony virtually.

Agreed, especially given that 16 foreign monarchs attended the coronation of Charles III and Camilla, breaking tradition where foreign crowned monarchs and consorts did not attend the coronations of others and were instead represented by other royals.

I think it is a great idea to make it virtual, there are people (like me) who either can't afford a flight ticket to Milwaukee or don't have time (in my case, it's both.) That just gave me an idea, I could transmit it on my channel.

Any type of ceremony that will occur in the foreseeable future will have to be virtual, as I cannot state with any sincerity when I would be able to get to the GTA. Also, as I've said before, I prefer for now something that is virtual as our citizenry is so spread out around the world, and it opens up the possibility of making this more of a grand event.

I will work up a prototype of a challenge coin that could be a commemorative item - I can lasercut acrylic to be similar in size to a poker chip with an appropriate graphic etched.  These could be produced in quantity and witha material on hand such that any citizen could request just with required postage and the new Monarch could have a supply dispense for meetings or good works.

This is a fantastic idea.

Not quite lasercutting -- and not quite related specifically to the coronation -- but additive manufacturing/3D printing has to have been a boon for micronationalism. Wonder what we could do with it.

I'll be quite interested to see what design you come up with :-)

Of course, you will need to arrange with John as to the transfer of the royal regalia, though I'm sure y'all have already that in place.

I would really love to transmit the coronation on my channel.

Vitxalmour Conductour has a 3D printer. Now, I'm not about to rope him into anything until I know more about what we're talking about. (All I'm saying is, he has one that he might be willing to use for Talossan stuff.)

It seems like the general consensus is that we would all prefer to do this in the GTA and do it right, rather than virtually do it sooner. Would there be any interest in souvenir copies of official proclamations or something similar? The 3D printing idea is cool, and it got me thinking about other keepsakes people might enjoy.

It may be a full-blown TalossaFest is in order.  Next summer (past 19 June?)?

This raises another point. We also need to give serious consideration to a reliable supply chain. If we commit to offering these materials then it might be good to use a commercial direct-sale producer, if feasible/affordable. I am not sure but I think the existing TalossaWare store is set up this way? We set up the products but all the rest is handled externally? Talossans using their personal resources and time has run into issues (no blame just trying to be prepared here).

I also have access to Prusa 3d printers although I am less skilled at 3d modeling to create objects something could perhaps be modified from an existing item on Thingaverse or similar sites.  Additive processes are a bit slower than etching and cutting chips.

Sch'hi estarha ün discuors da coroniçaziun, éu put en glheþinar per q'el noveu regeu povadra en citar in el prüm glheþ uficial.

(If there's going to be a coronation speech, I can Talossanize it so the new king can read it in the primary official language.)

We appear to be months out from the official coronation but the logistics will need some advance coordination. Is there any news on potential Txec-mabilia? The Coletx appears to be making progress on design of royal imagery so wanted to check on this.

Bumping this after a couple of weeks. Where are we on this?

IF there were to be an IRL Coronation in the GTA, I note that there is also MicroCon 2025 hosted by the Aerican Empire in Montreal, the 10th anniversary of that event see: https://microcon2025.com/ to which either heralds of the new reign could be sent, or perhaps there could be a Royal appearance?  The date appears to be still being nailed down but looks to be late June 2025 timeframe.

I have sent prototype items to the King.

You may be interested to know that last year's event was split between the US and EU (I believe specifically Illinois and the Netherlands). Wouldn't surprise me to see a similar arrangement again in the future, really.
