Title: [Terpelaziun] Seneschal (Oct 3)
Post by: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 03, 2024, 01:54:57 PM
Tuischach:

This enquiry is for the Seneschal. @Miestră Schivă, UrN

Has the Government completed transmission of the proceedings of the Standing Committee on Organic Law Reform to the Royal Archivist? I have noticed it is still viewable and wanted to determine whether it will be archived soon. Last term the Ziu passed legislation requiring its proceedings to be archived under the same requirements as those concerning Cabinet board postings.

I thank the member for his question. I confess that, reading the appropriate legislation (El Lexhatx D.8.9.1) it seems somewhat badly worded and misleading. It does not specify who should be responsible for "transmitting to the Royal Archives". As the member no doubt knows, Wittenberg is not under the jurisdiction of this Government, but the Chancery (Section J). Thus I confess that I assumed the Chancery were taking care of such archiving already, and I apologise for not checking.

If such archiving is not underway, I hereby politely ask the Chancery to make sure it starts, with the help of the PermSecBackEndAdmin. But perhaps we need an amendment to the law to specify who does the archiving.

I thank the Seneschal for her reply and for submitting the request to the Chancery. The suggestion for amending the Second Government Transparency Act is well-received.

The Chancery (i.e. me) has no idea how to even do such a transfer to the archives.

I am hopeful that the PermSec for the BackEnd can help with this.
