I've been trying to get some long rides in lately. The weather is getting colder and it won't be long before the snow starts flying.
In cycling terminology, a "century" is 100. There is the "Imperial Century" which is 100 miles and the "Metric Century" which is 100 kilometers.
Today, I cycled about 75km. Not quite a Century but well beyond a "Metric Half". In fact, it's my second Metric Half in a week or so.
What's the furthest single ride for you?

30 kilometres along the cost of Lake Constance. From Lindau (Germany) through Bregenz (Austria) and up to the border with Switzerland and then back which made it 60 kilometres.

It was the end of my summer holiday then and my mother was in Poland so me and my dad put on the bike rack on our car, loaded our bikes and drove to Lindau. Of course we took our dog with us.
The problem with long distance cycling in Eastern Wisconsin is that it's so boring. If you want distance, you have to go into the country and it's mostly flat. The scenery is all farm fields. I do like watching the cows reacting to a bicycle. Some of them freak out. Haha!

Europe is great for activities such as hiking or biking.
UPDATE: I have completed a Metric Century!
If you're part of the Strava Group, you can see my ride.
Haven't been back on a bike since Vitx and I rode what was, at the time, the entirety of the Greenway Trail in Lisbon, Ohio. (It's since been expanded a little. I think the goal is to have the trail run from the Ohio River straight north to Lake Erie.) Anyway, I think we rode about 35 miles that day. Nearly killed us. (You're talking two out of shape guys who suddenly decide to ride a bicycle after not having done it in years. "That was fun! Let's never do it again!")
My time for 100k was 4:30:31. Am I the National Cycling Champion now? 😁
I just realized something about this ride.
I started in Maritiimi-Maxhestic. Formerly, part of that province was called Port Maxhestic. I rode to Port Washington, Wisconsin.
It seems fitting to call the ride "El Tour dels Ports", right? Or something similar.
Mark your calendars, people. The third Saturday of October, 2025 will be the second Tour of the Ports!
I'm not in charge of the Talossan Cycling Association anymore, but I think it should include not only fantasy sports games (like what we have been doing, with our Tour De Wherever games) but real actual citizens biking. Audrada is an inspiration, makes me want to attempt the Greenway Trail again.

Tour of the Ports, you say? Mmm...tawny, red, perhaps a 10-or 20-year-aged selection?
...wait, this isn't La STdSFFeW. M'escusetz.
