I added this as an option :p
Even though I don't participate I absolutely think the tournament should continue
I'm in favor of anything that creates traditions for Talossa. I won't be taking part but I'll be cheering from the sidelines.
Not only do I want more chess, I also request more Glüc polls. They're a venerable Talossan tradition that's sadly declined in recent times.

Yeah, I definitely felt nostalgic for the good old times when creating this post.
Unfortunately the results of the poll aren't exactly conclusive. There is definitely some interest which is nice, but no consensus on how to set up the tournament.
I put in Talossan Chess League as an option because it sounds fancy, but to be honest I'm not even sure what it means. Any thoughts?
I'm also not sure what time format is most suitable for beginners. Honestly probably what we did last time (10+5).
So I guess we could just do the same thing as last time and have a swiss rapid tournament. Only wed need to think about how to deal planning the games. Clearly putting too much pressure on participants to plan their games led some people to drop out last time, but on the other hand I also worry people lose interest if there's months between rounds. Either way having to keep reminding people isn't much fun. Maybe we can adapt the format in some way that it's easier for the competition to continue if someone is on vacation or whatever.
I prefer 15+10 but that's just me

I like going with what worked last time. My goal is to repeat a last place finish...
I'm just dropping by to get a peek at the chess table after years away.
