Title: Refrencing Style and systems
Post by: Tierçéu Rôibeardescù on March 12, 2025, 10:54:10 AM
I wish to propose a meeting/discussion as to the Royal Society's preferred referencing style for bibliographies.

There being many options to choose from, for example, Harvard, Chicago, Modern Language Association (MLA), APA (American Psychological Association) Et Al.... Or we could create our own style (which would be very us!).

An Example of our own referencing could be:
Talossan Wordsmith Association Theoretical style (TWATS): Number of order of reference, Authors last name, first name, Middle name (if available), Title of cited work, Chapter/section Title, page, year of work cited publication, Media of cited work (cocktail napkin/website/book/ect), City of publication, Province of Publication, Last beverage consumed at time of reference, date of beverage when said consumed, ISBN/Website address/link to pdf or photograph if possible.
In text citation, last name, order of reference, first 3 letters of beverage.

Example: "The answer to Life... the universe....  and everything ... is ... 42" (Adams,1,lem)

1. Adams, Douglas, Noel, "The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy",27, 182, 2005, book, London, Cezambre, lemonade, 03/12/25, ISBN 0330438956, can be read: https://www.deyeshigh.co.uk/downloads/literacy/world_book_day/the_hitchhiker_s_guide_to_the_galaxy.pdf

I love the idea of creating our own referencing style. I don't love the acronym TWATS though.
