Title: [ELECTIONS] Notes on provincial elections
Post by: Sir Lüc on March 14, 2025, 10:14:37 AM
Azul, as is customary the Chancery will facilitate elections to provincial offices and legislatures by including ballot spaces for all provincial elections and seat claims. The Chancery will not tabulate the results; the raw ballots will be published after the end of the elections, in anonymous form except for the seat claim parts, which will be released separately. It is then up to the various provincial officials to decide if and how to count these ballots according to their electoral law.

Atatürk and Florencia will feature a single field for indicating a (write-in) party vote for the House of Commons and the Nimlet respectively.

Belacostă will receive two ballot spaces: one for the voter to stake a seat claim in the Provincial Assembly, and one for the Provincial Council election (ranked vote, 3 preferences).

Fiovă will receive a single ballot space for the Praisidïeu election (ranked vote, same as Senate).

Cézembre, Maricopa, Mariitimi-Maxhestic and Vuode will receive a single ballot space to stake a seat claim in their respective provincial assemblies.

Note that the process for claiming a seat is usually done by provincial officials with their own methods and timings; some are looser and neatly line up with the General Election's timing, some require specific formulas to be typed out in specific threads. I am very sorry for not being able to contact all relevant officials in advance as I originally wished to; I've made a judgement call to go on including all elections and claims on the ballot, and provincial officials should feel free to use the results or discard them, and to contact me should they wish to include further information on the ballot.

It is so nice to not have to run the election!
