Azul. All seats of the Cosă having already been filled, first of all, welcome all and thanks for agreeing to serve as Members of the Cosă!
It is my pleasure to hereby open nominations for the post of Túischac'h, to serve until the dissolution of the 61th Cosă (ideally an MC would do this, but the outgoing Túischac'h is no longer an MC.)
The rules governing the election of a Túischac'h are found under Lex.H.4.4:
Quote4.4.1. Should the position of Túischac'h be vacant and a majority of Cosă seats be filled, any Member of the Cosă may either nominate one eligible person for the office of Túischac'h, or second such a nomination made by another Member of the Cosă.
4.4.2. Members of the Cosă may not nominate or second multiple different nominees.
4.4.3. Should the Secretary of State determine that an eligible person has been nominated and seconded by members currently representing an absolute majority of seats in the Cosă, the Secretary of State shall declare the person to be duly elected as Túischac'h, to serve until the Dissolution of the current Cosă.
I nominate Baron Alexandreu Davinescu
Reminder this nomination process is still open and might need to be wrapped up soon to help with CRL review for the First Clark.
The lone nominee
@Baron Alexandreu Davinescu needs 80 additional seats's worth of cosponsorships to be elected.
Whoops! Okay, I better second my own nomination.
Make it 59 then:)
(Alternate nominations are of course still in order too)
I nominate
@Munditenens Tresplet as Tuischac'h.
I cosponsor the nomination of
@Munditenens Tresplet It also looks like we still need to choose a mençéi...
Hmmm. I am distressed to see that the Progressive Alliance are attempting to take the leadership of both houses of the Ziu. I was leaning towards the Baron on the grounds that he's proved his competence to work in the CRL, but the best response to this kind of political aggression is to vote for Dien.
In any case, AD will be effective "leader of the opposition" in the Cosa this term, and best to disentangle that from Túischac'h.
I will accept my nomination.

- sorry to pop in a Cosă discussion - I am surprised that you consider that these 2 positions are to be held by political parties, and not by individuals (who should keep on showing that they know how to separate political debates from impartial gouvernance).

Þerxh, you explicitly said in the Senäts that you thought you should be Mençéi precisely because you're a member of an opposition party! (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?msg=33605)
If the Progressive Alliance *want* to discuss agreement on the best person to chair both houses, regardless of party, let me know.

This is going well...
We've got two good candidates and hopefully we can get this settled before the start of the first Clark.

We haven't really discussed it at all as a party, although presumably Þerxh saw the same writing on the wall about Tuischac'h that I did, where it was looking like Avant was going to break from recent tradition and pick a member of the Government instead.
Does Dien count as "a member of the government"? I didn't think so
I would have thought so? Otherwise, he'd be a member of an opposition party.
Maybe the problem is mine... I always thought it was a pretty firm binary these days: either you supported the Government, or you did not.
@Munditenens Tresplet Do you consider yourself a part of the Government?
Dien is not a member of the Government; he has no role in the executive and has not pledged to support us except on VoCs and the Budget.
There is still time for the two Houses to choose chairs who can do the CRL job, organise a State Opening of the Ziu, and do all the other jobs best, regardless of party. ¡Avant! in the Cosă and the FreeDems in the Senäts are *not* whipping the vote, there is no party line, individuals are voting their own opinions. Persuasion may still be effective.

Agreed but time is a tickin'
Not sure what discussions you all are having behind the scenes but hopefully you all come to a decision soon.

Looks like we are getting closer.
@Sir Lüc Just a quick note here, Tgerxh is still listed as Tuischach even though the position is actually vacant.
While I accepted the nomination, I will support whoever has the closest number of seats to win. So consider my seats to go to whoever needs them; the Cosa starts soon.
Just confirming that my vote for Túischac'h is
@Munditenens Tresplet

Reconfirming as well.
I hereby vote for Tresplet to be Túischac'h for the 61st Cosa.
Current tally: Alexandreu Davinescu 63, Munditenens Tresplet 88
Seats needed for election: 101
Yet to vote:
@Bråneu Excelsio, UrN ,
@Barclamïu da Miéletz ,
@Iac Éovard Valadeir ,
@mpf ,
@Muhammed Yasir
I will also vote for
@Munditenens Tresplet
That makes it 97 for Tresplet.
I vote for Sreu: Tresplet.
That makes it 117 seats for
@Munditenens Tresplet , who I conclude is therefore duly elected as Túischac'h for the 61st Cosă pursuant to Lexh.H.4.4.3. Congratulations!
