According to Lexhatx H:
Quote1.1. Following each General Election, an official State Opening of the Ziu shall take place for the purpose of inaugurating the incoming Ziu and Government.
1.1.1. The State Opening shall be organized and conducted by the Túischac'h and Mençei, working in coordination and cooperation with each other. They shall jointly set the place and time for the meeting to take place. The meeting may take place in person, using video conferencing tools, or on Wittenberg.
(..)
1.1.4. During the State Opening, the King - or a Commissioner delegated by the King - shall deliver a speech, written by the Government, outlining the Government's legislative agenda and program for the term. The speech may be followed by a rebuttal by the Leader of the Opposition - or a Member of the Cosă or Senator delegated by the Leader of the Opposition - and by further debate.
Following a consultation between your prefered Túischac'h and Mençei, we are happy to
announce the State Opening to be held on Sunday May, the eleventh.
Unfortunately we will not organise a live session, the Opening will be held on Wittenberg.
We kindly ask the Seneschal Dame
@Miestră Schivă, UrN-GC to prepare the Government speech to be delivered by our Majesty, and (self-)remind the Leader of the Opposition with the possibility of a rebuttal.

I am very disappointed that the State Opening of the Cosa, the first of my Reign, will not be held live. What are the obstacles to holding such an event?

This both derives from the sudden nature of the accessions to our positions, and - on my side - my reluctance to be on camera and let you hear my not-so-sexy french accent ;-)

Talossa needs more interaction and live-ish events. We are too text-based and we lose so much because of that.
-Txec R
Of course, speeches on video or audio files can be encouraged for these occasions

I second this sentiment emphatically. We need to see each other more.

Social anxiety is real. Some Talossans simply do not feel comfortable being "live" in the space of other Talossans. Conversely, other Talossans are so noxious that some of us would prefer to avoid live events so as not to see them or hear them.
Notice the word "live-ish". The various speeches could be recorded and then put together to form a whole. Just a thought.

As someone who has social anxiety I've found virtual events to be a bearable replacement but each person is different. And I can say I've been able to tolerate noxious Talossans during past live events. :)

I do think the rate of perceived "noxiousness" might be decreased by live interactions, King.
Once upon a time, it was a hallmark of Talossans to WANT to meet live. As someone who participated in -- if not actually hosted -- Live Cosas, I also feel this is a crucial ingredient.
Of course, meeting live and discovering how discordant someone is in person can ALSO lead to ongoing (and permanent) problems. Ask me how I know.

Sir Tamoran dal Nava aka Chris G could tell you in great detail how his half a decade of friendship with KR1 came to a disastrous end after a weekend in the same room at Talossafest 2003 :D
