We've had a long record of involvement with the music ranking TMT20. I am wondering if there might be interest in a movie ranking Top 20? A Talossan Cinema Top 20?

I would participate.

Using the Music contest as a template, these are the draft rules I was thinking:
Quote2025 TCT20 Nomination Rules
Nominations are now open. Everyone (including guests and prospective citizens) is invited to nominate movies to form the 2025 edition of the Talossan Cinema Top 20.
The competition will consist of 150 movies.
For now we will start with 10 nominations per person. If we don't have enough movies by Noon TST on August 10, everyone will be free to nominate one new movie every 12 hours.
If you can, please include a link to the Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB or Wikipedia (or other informative page) of the movie. Otherwise I will find a link myself.
All genres of movies are welcome.
I am sure there is much work to refine these guidelines but thought it nice to start somewhere.
I have thought before about whether the TMT20 format could be adapted to other things.
The nice thing about songs is that you can listen to all the ones you haven't heard before in a pretty reasonable amount of time.
Trying to judge movies in the same way opens you up to potentially having to watch dozens of movies or more. Maybe that's fine for movie buffs but I don't think I'd do it (of course, I don't want many movies anyway so I'm probably not the target audience)
Just my two cents.

Thanks Ian, that is an excellent point. It looks like we would be limited to movies that have been seen by lots of people unfortunately.
