Title: 61st Cosă 5th Clark - Cosă voting thread
Post by: Sir Lüc on September 01, 2025, 09:31:30 AM
Members of the Cosă, you can cast your votes on the Fifth Clark here or on the database: https://database.talossa.com/ziu/clark/vote

You can find the Clark at: https://database.talossa.com/ziu/terms/61/clarks/5 (database) or at https://wiki.talossa.com/images/b/ba/September2025Clark.pdf (pdf)

If you vote here on Witt, do not indicate any conditions which may make it sound like this vote isn't final: you can always change your vote later.

I voted on the database.  I abstained from the only bill under consideration, since on the one hand I think BHAID is generally unobjectionable, but on the other hand I an loathe to vote in favor of a bill that essentially just exists to congratulate an MC (especially this one).

Yeah, I'm voting Per.

For those wondering who this bill specifically honors...well it's stated explicitly in the bill and I will highlight it here:

"Be it further resolved, that we honor the commitment of the Bureau's founders, public servants in the Foreign Affairs ministry, and donors from the Talossan community and beyond, whose collective efforts have helped the Kingdom to advance human dignity and international solidarity."

Notice this does not single out one person for honor. Please take this opportunity to celebrate Talossa's hunanitarianism and to rise above the low politics of this moment.

Quote from: GV on September 11, 2025, 06:09:01 AM61RZ25 Contrâ - Of course, it's the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund that keeps me from voting Për.  From what I've been able to find, the PCR over the years has had around it clouds of some sort of association with terrorist organizations.

To be sure, I am frankly leery right now of any organization claiming to help Palestinian children, as I fear any money given to said organization would somehow be funneled to Hamas, which is the real enemy of the Palestinians, even if they refuse to acknowledge that fact.

If Hamas had not done October 7, Israel never would have bombed Gaza.

While recognizing - and as a Jewish friend of mine put it - there are no "virgins" on either side of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, I acknowledge there being a spiritual dimension to all of this most people for whatever reason do not recognize and that is deeper than anything we can possibly imagine.

I want the Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace.  And not just physical peace.  This will only happen when both sides recognize the Jesus Christ of the Old and New Testaments as Messiah.

That happy day will happen, but any more discussion on that, and this post becomes a novel.

GV - Fiova

Mr. Speaker, I wanted to amend my initial comments and reference those (above) of a member in the other chamber. I, of course, understand everyone will vote in accordance with their own conscience, but this endorsement of collective punishment is as abhorrent and dangerous when applied to Palestinians as it is when applied to Israelis or Jewish people living anywhere in the world. I would reiterate that it is possible to celebrate Talossan humanitarianism without continuing the recent toxicity or engaging in justification of crimes against humanity.

Estimat Túischac'h, I feel the Senator from Fiova might be interested to learn that:

1) 6% of the global population of Palestinians are Christians;
2) Muslims recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah as promised in the Old Testament ("son of God" is a totally different issue)
