Title: Green Party Statement: Rethinking Politics
Post by: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 10, 2025, 12:09:55 PM
With help from our newest member @Carteir Montagnhă the Green Party has set up its organization and discussion platform on Discord. In our early discussions concerning the upcoming general election the contributions of another member and upcoming Cosa list candidate @Francesco Manzella led to the following Party Statement. It was approved by the full party membership and serves as an introduction to our party's forthcoming election platform:

Rethinking Politics: From Bureaucratic Formalism to National Renewal

It is necessary to reflect on the current direction of our political life. Too often, vitality within our institutions is mistaken for the mere proliferation of laws and regulations. Yet legislation, without a strong and growing citizen base to sustain it, risks becoming an empty exercise, serving only a handful of individuals rather than the community as a whole.

The reality is clear: while bureaucracy multiplies, the number of active citizens diminishes. Complex procedures, a lack of transparency, and a political system that seeks engagement only during electoral periods discourage broader participation. Step by step, the nation risks being reduced to a closed circle of a few individuals alternating in power, enacting rules that no longer resonate with the collective interest.

The fundamental question we must ask ourselves is not whether we govern, but why we govern. If governance serves merely as a platform for personal visibility or as a pastime for a select few, then the very purpose of politics is undermined. Politics, even when pursued as a passion, must always remain anchored in its true mission: the welfare, development, and unity of the nation.

To achieve this, we must prioritise policies that attract new citizens, strengthen internal welfare, and enhance external visibility. Investment in communication, social media, public outreach, websites, marketing, and merchandising is no longer optional: it is essential. These are the tools that will allow our nation to be known beyond its borders, to inspire interest, and to secure the necessary resources for sustainable growth.

Honourable colleagues, the task before us is clear. We must move beyond sterile bureaucratic formalism and direct our efforts toward building a vibrant, attractive, and future-oriented nation. This requires not simply the creation of additional laws, but the commitment to a collective project that inspires trust, participation, and pride in citizenship.

Only by embracing this vision can we ensure that our politics serves not the few, but the many; not personal ambition, but the enduring strength of the nation.

Agree with this vision?
The Green Party welcomes you.
