We just want to say a proud
thank you to everyone who has reached out in support of
The Public Process Act and against secret government control of the immigration process! Thanks to you, the incumbent government is feeling the heat and agreeing to talk about legislation, rather than just yelling. And a big
thank you to MC Mic'haglh Autófil for the shift in tone! Thanks, Mic'haglh! Let's find a solution that makes our government transparent!
Keep up the pressure! Let your government know that you don't want negative, angry campaigning... you want real solutions! We're going to keep fighting for you, but we can't do it alone! Your support is making this possible and making them feel like they need to change their tone.
Reach out and
thank your government for this new approach, and let them know that
your vote depends on them running a positive campaign and
getting rid of this secret government control of immigration! Demand transparency! Demand positivity!
The Progressive Alliance will always prioritize accountability and transparency. I'm glad the government realized its mistake and I'm hoping a solution will be forthcoming sooner than later. Let's get it done!

Thanks to public pressure and persistence, we have stopped with the negative attacks and angry speeches, and we've moved into discussing the merits of legislation. I'm grateful for the change in tone, but I'm not foolish enough to think it came from nowhere, lol! This shift in the tenor of the campaign is thanks to public pressure, but that doesn't make it any less welcome!
Thank you guys for this change, and let's keep it going and actually make this immigration process transparent! Let's end secret government control of the immigration process!
FALSEHOOD: "the incumbent government is feeling the heat and agreeing to talk about legislation, rather than just yelling"
FACTS: check the date below.
Quote from: Miestră Schivă, UrN-GC on October 22, 2025, 02:37:30 PMFirst things first. I agree that El Lexhatx E.5. gives too much discretion to the Immigration Minister to just "yoink" an immigration application at any time for any reason. I think the next Cosa should look at this topic again.
...
I don't know if I'll be in the next Ziu, but I assume the Union of Free Reformists will be pleased to work with the Progressive Alliance on reforming immigration applications to improve transparency and fairness, without making the job of Immigration Minister any more onerous than it is.
We have been open to talking about legislation to deal with the too-much-discretion issue all along. The PA's leader deciding to openly lie about us and our motivations has worked to their own political benefit - but has been the main stumbling block to getting a discussion going about solving the problem. Just like the PA's leader's wild accusations of corruption and criminality, followed by a complete disinterest in reaching out over a legislative solution, is the main reason a proposal couldn't be passed on the Sixth Clark.
Rebutting falsehoods is not angry yelling; I attempt to at least be polite. Mic'haglh and I work as a team, and his positive proposals are simply the counterpart of my job in this campaign, viz. "hopping top of obvious falsehoods to squelch them as quickly as possible".
I should note that none of this should prevent a compromise proposal to solve this issue going on the First Clark of the next Cosa.
Okay, well I'm glad that by complete coincidence we have reopened discussions on actual legislative solutions here. I look forward to ending this secret government control over the immigration process. No bureaucrat should be in charge of deciding who is allowed to apply.
I already have a new version of my bill up that deals with the creative objections to the previous version, and that we can pass in the first Clark!
Here (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=4529.msg37944#msg37944)'s the new version! It includes specific, explicit language to reassure anyone hesitant about it that none of it can be the basis for prosecution and also that rejection of deficient applications doesn't require disclosure. I'm very open to any further changes to assuage other worries :)

The next time I see him be honest will be the first, but as the more mature individual in the conversation I'm happy to ignore his mischaracterizations.
I will run as positive of a campaign as the truth allows me to run, but we do ourselves a grave disservice when we ignore uncomfortable truths in favor of a smiling facade.
