I must say I was a little disconcerted by the new interface for the ranked-choice voting elections. I worked it out within a minute or two, but it might have been good for the ballot to be "trialed" a week or so in advance to give examples.

I am sorry about that - admittedly there was a "preview mode" ballot that could have been used for public trials, but I did not end up sharing it. To be fair though, the same interface was already in place for the previous general election and it seems to have worked well enough to warrant no complaints.
@Sir Lüc Flip Molinar is on the list of voters who did not cast a ballot. I believe Danihel Txechescu informed us of the unfortunate news of his passing earlier this year.

All we know is that Flip himself informed us he would not last beyond June 2025, in all likelihood (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=2909.msg30724#msg30724); Danihel merely reminded us of that.
But in reality, we have no confirmation of what happened since, and without such proof, revoking Flip's citizenship would be inOrganic on account of breaking the Twelfth Covenant.
That is why the Chancery still considers Flip an active citizen and why he was accordingly issued a ballot.
What sort of confirmation would the Chancery need to mark Flip Molinar as TDE? (Orglaw X.5)

Some sort of online obituary like the ones I found for a few of his relatives (most recent example (https://www.oakpark.com/2024/10/15/shirley-mungai-93/)). (Edit: or more direct confirmation from surviving relatives or social media)

I wanted to clarify from the following from
@Danihel Txechescu Quote from: Danihel Txechescu on September 24, 2025, 10:56:41 AMI was looking a topic on this yesterday myself and found none. I remembered Flip too on his birthday.
For those not in the know, Flip passed away early in the year due to an aggressive brain tumor. His presence is missed in Talossa.
Danihel stated that Flip passed away. Danihel I may have misunderstood you.
His Facebook page is unfortunately no longer working so I cannot verify based on that.

Nevermind - I have been provided with sufficient proof that Flip sadly passed away in the night of January 23rd 2025. I can obviously miss things but I don't think this info had been shared here beforehand, like with other unfortunately similar cases.
I have updated the rolls accordingly. He shall remain a Talossan in eternity, and his memory will live on in our minds and hearts. Så viva Flip!

Thank you Luc. Så viva Flip!
While my heart is heavy over this, I am so glad he was able to experience the first Flip Molinar Day.

We have reached 40% turnout with 10 days and a half to go. We need 41 more voters to match the absolute turnout of the last election (95), 44 more to match the relative turnout (72.5%), and 46 more to get to the elusive 100 voters. Hopefully doable!
On that note, I will probably not be sending a reminder right on the weekend, because at least two parties are eligible for repeat mailers and there's no point in spamming voters more.
I wonder if the database could give the time in TST, and then clarify with GMT and our detected time zones? Is that a bad idea?
Is that not what happens already? E.g. if I go on https://database.talossa.com/elections/november-2025-general-elections I see:
QuoteVoting will close in
9 days 4 hours 48 minutes 29 seconds
at December 1, 2025 at 5:00 PM CST
(December 2, 2025 at 12:00 AM GMT+1 in your detected timezone)
Right, but it says Central Standard Time. Which is not incorrect, since that's the same as TST. I just thought it would be neat if it referred to TST instead.
If it's a hassle or it doesn't look right, then don't worry about it. It's truly not at all a big deal, but just something I thought might be cool.
"TST/CST"
Relatedly, does the time seasonally change to "TDT"?
There's nothing official to say, I don't think. In my experience, people usually switch to TDT at that time, even if they still call it TST, because it's more convenient.
Also I vaguely recall that someone had some personal animus against daylight savings time?

Ah gotcha. I vaguely recall I did write some code to replace CST with TST, not sure why it wouldn't work anymore. Gonna investigate and fix later today.

I see the issue now - the script looks for "CT" instead of "CST". It's been fixed now.
Nifty! Thanks!

Talossa is a kingdom, we don't have a president. And it's already too late to announce your candidacy for this election since it's currently ongoing (plus you need to be a citizen to be a candidate for anything).
I applied for citizenship. What am I waiting for to be accepted?

Two existing citizens have to petition for your citizenship. The earliest date this can happen is tomorrow. (https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=4543.0)

Feedback from a less-active voter: They couldn't tell what was party mailers and what was their actual ballot because everything started with "November 2025 Elections" or similar. Mailers should be clearly distinguishable by subject line from the ballot even if you're blind and not paying attention
That is a fair point. Bit late now but I will switch to putting the important bit at the start.
(To be fair, the absolutely unprecedented amount of mailers probably doesn't help either)
A round of reminders is getting sent out as I type this. (With much clearer subject line, as suggested)
Roughly 4 days and a half left to vote; turnout is 53.33% (72/135). 23 further voters needed to match the absolute turnout from last election, 26 to match the relative turnout, 28 to get triple digits.
We're roughly 73% of the way into the election. Last time, vote #72 was cast about 60% of the way into the election, and at the 73% point there were 76 votes in the ballot box, so we seem to be four or five votes short.
However I had not sent any reminders prior to now on account of the many mailers that were submitted, and additionally:
- 14 nonvoters have voted in all four national polls within the last two years,
- 11 further have voted in three of four,
- 10 others voted in 2/4, but voted in both previous General Elections,
- and this still leaves almost 30 further citizens
so I'm hoping it's just a matter of voters voting later than usual this time around, and that most of them will show up.

I've appreciated each and every single email I've received from the political parties. It's great to see the reachout!
@Sir Lüc Have opportunities for additional election mailers been exhausted for all the parties? I was hoping to time it for one final message but may have messed up.

That is very nice feedback to hear. I was worried people would feel overwhelmed and/or start disregarding any and all Chancery emails.

So the mailer situation for all parties in order of when they can next send out a mailer is:
- IDT
@Max Maltezos and IG/AS
@Garth Spencer : can send one anytime
- Prog
@Baron Alexandreu Davinescu : next up anytime after Saturday 29th at 10 am TST
- URL
@Mic'haglh Autófil, O.Be : next up anytime after approx. midnight between Saturday-Sunday
- Green
@Breneir Tzaracomprada : next up anytime after Sunday 30th at 11 am TST
So all parties can get a mailer in before the deadline, on Monday 1st at 5:30 PM TST. Also remember you can provide a mailer in advance and I can schedule it whenever you want, from the earliest possible time onwards of course (in your own interest - otherwise you are at the mercy of my unpredictable weekend schedule, which has lately been largely not up to me.)
As per usual, a single postal ballot has been just received and entered into the Database.

As
@Xherált Ups Cantoûr has had his citizenship reinstated while the General Election was still underway, he has been issued an extra ballot.
Two days and a bit left!
91 voters (66.91% turnout) with almost exactly 24 hours to go. A final reminder will go out in about 12 hours.
In the last election, 12 people voted in the last 24 hours, but 9 of them have already cast their ballot in this election.
Six voters with a 4/4 turnout in national polls in the last two years, five with a 3/4 record, and five more who voted in the last two GEs, have all yet to vote.
Final reminders going out. Turnout is up to 95, so we need 4 to improve on last time's relative turnout, and 5 to get to the elusive triple digits.
12 hours to go. Hope to see some lively Discord chatting up to then!
