Why I am Interested in Becoming a Talossan:
I enjoyed my time here before I had to leave, and given that my situation has changed I wanted to come back. Especially now with the current pandemic, I would like to make some friends and experience the Talossan culture again.

How long ago did you leave? I hope you are able to become a citizen again!

Thanks! It's been quite a while. I originally joined back in 2009, according to the records I've been able to find, and had to leave shortly afterwards due to some, shall we say, parental interference.

I'm kinda curious what my status is legally, honestly, given that I didn't actually renounce my citizenship and wasn't able to vote.

Anyway, I'm glad to be back! It seems like I've missed quite a lot since then.

Q1. Do you have a favourite sports team? Who and why?

I'm from Buffalo, so I kinda support the Bills by default, but I'm not really into most sports. Give me a book instead.


Q2. What are your favourite hobbies during your free time?

I'm a fairly avid gamer, and spend the rest of my time bouncing between reading and watching Youtube. I used to enjoy going outside and doing things, but given the pandemic, well that's been kinda curtailed.

Q3. Pixar or Marvel?

Neither. Indie comics are the best (shoutout to LumberJanes).

Q4. If you had the opportunity to live in the capital city of any sovereign nation, other than Talossa, which would it be and why?

This is a hard one, but if I had to pick one I'd probably go for Paris. The thought of good French bread and cheese is making my mouth water.   

Q5. How do you cut your sandwiches? Diagonally, not at all, or another shape? Maybe you take off the crust?

Not at all, unless I want to see the cheese stretch.

Q6. Do you have a favourite podcast to recommend?

This is also hard. If I had to pick, I'd go with 99% Invisible. It's allegedly a design podcast, but it delves into history, technology, and all kinds of semi-related topics.   

Q7. Apple or Android?

Android. Apple is too rich for my blood, and walled garden bad.

Q8. What is Talossa's most attractive feature?  What brought you here?

Honestly, the community. Everyone was really nice during my time here before, and I'm excited to be back.

Q9. Which one of the Rocky movies is the best?

I haven't seen any of them, so...

Q10. Skydiving, or deep-sea exploratory submarine?

I'd pick the sub in a heartbeat. I still have no idea why anyone would jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

Q11.  What is your favourite movie and why?

Again with the hard questions... If I had to pick one, I'd go for The Princess Bride. As for why, I'm not honestly sure. It brings back lots of good memories.

Q12.  Do you have a favourite Avenger?

Nope. Haven't seen the movies.

Q13. What would be three books, articles, or other such materials that you might recommend to all of Talossa for reading?

Alright, I'm limiting this to things I've read recently...

The first is Laurie Garret's: The Coming Plague or Ken Alibek's book Biohazard. They're both quite relevant to these modern times, and interesting to boot. Not for the faint of heart though.

The second would be John Scalzi's book Old Man's War. It's tied with Ender's Game and Ready Player One for the best scifi I've ever read.

Lastly, because you'll need a laugh after those two, I can recommend Christopher Moore's book Practical Demonkeeping. It's the perfect antidote to the last two.


Q14.  Who/what is your favourite music artist/band/genre?

I can't pick one, so I'm copping out and saying Rise Against.

Q15. Are you a reader, a writer, a speaker, or a listener?

Reader, easily.

Q16. What are your distinct and separate feelings on the colours of green, red, and pink?

I have no particular opinion on the color green, but red was my favorite color for the longest time, and I greatly enjoy pink now.

Q17.  Do you have a favourite flavour of ice cream? If not, what is a favourite dessert?

Alright, this is really specific, but a grocery chain used to sell a red velvet cake ice cream that was to die for. They don't make it anymore, but I've been hoping they'll bring it back.

Q18.  How do you feel about jam versus jelly?

I have no particular opinion. I prefer butter or cream cheese on my bagels.

Q19. Do you play any video games in your free time? Which?

Oh, do I ever. I'm a very avid player of Arma 3, and bounce around between other games fairly frequently. I like Stardew Valley, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, and the Fallout series too.

Q20.  If you could eat an apple right now, or a pear, which would you rather?

I'd go for the apple, not super fond of pears.
