Folks, it is my pleasure to announce the opening of the
4th El Pretz Per Tomas Poetry Contest! The judges this year are the nation's poet laureate,
@Carlüs Éovart Vilaçafat and the founder of the contest,
@owenedwards I express my gratitude for their willingness to participate in reviewing submissions.
The submission period will run
until March 31st so plenty of time to wax poetic and submissions are welcome in either Talossan or English. But please for those of us not as well-versed in Talossan please provide an English translation.
New this year is the prize of $30 USD along with publication on Fora Talossa.
Submissions can be submitted via Witt PM here or via email to copebh [at] gmail [dot] com.
I hope to see some good entries this year!

Your wonderful haiku has been received.
@Crement Itravilatx I am wondering if you too might throw in a haiku?

Talossa: A Place for Solitude
Quiet forum threads,
a lone post drifts like dust motes,
waiting to be seen.

Life is quite fleeting
Continual renewal

Beautiful, thanks King Txec!
We seem to be on a roll with haikus but all forms of poetry are welcome, folks.
"I Dream"
I dream
The world turns
Shadows melt
Dream burns
Passion sated
Fear from hate
Passion lost
Fickle fate
Tangled limbs
Broken trees
Sun fades
Darkness sees
Quiet, fearful
Music flares
Dreams return
No one cares
Jumbled thoughts
Lost, confused
Body weak
Mind abused
Rain, lightning
Roar of thunder
Blowing wind
Life a blunder
Day is gone
Dream no longer
Soon to sleep
Calm the hunger
These are the jumbled thoughts of a wannabe poet who has no talent whatsoever, but things run through my mind and tumble out, it sucks but its mine

Thank you Tric'hard. I see talent in your jumbled thoughts. :)
This is an absolutely beautiful poem! Well done!

I don't think I am eligible but want to submit this for honorable mention review by the judges.
Progeny
I will have no children,
Nature has, therefore, promised me extinction.
But I've pursued an alternative immortality,
with the gifts of my creators.
My mother taught me how to bake,
and also how to make
more good out of my own good.
Both are the same sweetness.
My father the gregarious storyteller,
taught me that my dreams
and the stories they tell of who I want to be,
are more precious than a diamond-filled sky.
And I do not know where my faith,
in the oneness of humankind comes from.
My dreams and good works are my children.
I hope not to need burial for either of them.
I hope they weep at my deathbed
and that the stories they tell when they miss me,
inspire you to love as fearlessly as you need.

If nothing else it's better the "The Tay Bridge Disaster", widely regarded as the worst poem of all time
