Azul all, the Electoral Commission has certified the rules governing the upcoming General Election. As such, registrations can now begin.
Customary preamble: with King Txec dissolving the Cosă it falls upon the Chancery to conduct elections to all 200 seats in the 63rd Cosă, to Senate seats representing Belacostă, Maritiimi-Maxhestic and Vuode, and five referenda on 62RZ07, 14, 15, 26 and 27. The Chancery will also facilitate elections to provincial legislatures, as is customary.
The rules governing the election period and all ballot items can be found here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SB9YoMwBP5ZqB057OAi4LUTHNTX5Uip_BV0p7e4KlJw/edit?usp=sharing). A summary of rules relevant to deadlines and registration follows:
COSĂ PARTY REGISTRATIONIs open now and will remain open until August 13th. Registration can be done by posting in this thread, by PM to me, or by email to the Chancery with the following info:
- Full party name in the preferred national language (English/Talossan)
- Party leader(s)
- A 50-word statement of the general aims and views of the party
- A list of candidates to receive Cosă seats, or no list.
These must all be provided immediately upon registration but can be amended later up to the deadline (though do so by notifying me, not by editing a previous post because I will not magically notice!).
You may also provide:
- A link to a platform or manifesto
- An alternate party name in the other national language
- A list of authorised agents who may manage your registration and send mailers on your behalf
- A preferred abbreviation or initialism
Registration is provisional until payment of a registration fee of 6¤40 ($10 USD). The fee must be paid to the Treasury
before you are able to send mailers through the Chancery (NEW due to 62RZ28, Lex.D.7.6.5.1) and assign any and all seats your party may have won. Contact Burgermeister Sir
@xpb for information on payment (refer to: https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?msg=33589)

No additional information is necessary but you will need to be a citizen of the province whose seat you seek to represent.

Attention: New mailer rulesWith the passage of 62RZ28, the Data Protection Act, the rules governing mailers have changed. The changes are two:
- Mailers can only be sent by fully registered parties: this entails both registering here with at least the bare minimum info (name, 50-words, leader, provisional Cosă list; see above), AND paying the USD10 registration fee to the Treasury. In case the Treasury is unresponsive, I will accept proper receipts sent to me in private as provisional proof of payment.
- Once you have fully registered, you can send up to three mailers: one between now and voting opening on August 15th, and two, at least a week apart from each other, in the actual voting period (15th-1st)
Other rules remain the same: send mailers to talossachancery at gmail, and I will forward them unedited (except if you forgot to sign it, and except for the "you may unsubscribe at this link" preamble) within a day.

Quote from: Tric'hard Lenxheir on August 01, 2026, 07:19:16 AMI would like to run for the Senate seat in Vuode as an independent if that is allowed
Yes! There are no party labels for Senate elections, although Senators are then free to affiliate with whatever party they choose, including no party at all; so that is absolutely allowed.
I will be running for reelection in the glorious province of Maritiimi-Maxhestic.

@Sir Lüc I was reviewing the example ballot and came away with a question. Mximo Carbonel is a sitting senator (Florencia) and presumably can't hold both his current seat and be a member of the Cosa. Can he legally stand as a member of this list?

Yes he can, but of course he won't be eligible to accept Cosă seats should he be assigned any, unless he also resigns his Senate seat.
This is admittedly more unusual than the common practice of Senate candidates also appearing in a Cosă list, but we had candidates running for incompatible positions in the past; the first one that comes to mind is Béneditsch Ardpresteir winning the Senate race for Maricopa in the 50th Cosă elections, despite being a sitting CpI Justice at the time. He had to decide which position he wanted to keep, and ultimately elected to remain on the bench, with Sir Cresti being appointed Senator by the Premier of Maricopa (can't immediately remember who that was) in his stead.
In other words: running for an incompatible position is legal, but accepting the election without resolving the incompatibility is not.

I am working with various entities to make sure that the registration funds are received. Some are unable to use PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle as I have previously established, and I am trying to use other means. Another possible way at all times is to issue a check or money order to The Kingdom of Talossa, PO Box 3037, High Mar Station, Boulder, Colorado 80307-3037 USA and send by postal mail. The organization could issue an affidavit online that it has been mailed, and then I would complete the transaction upon arrival.
