Fellow Talossans,
As an American Talossan it is not hard to find examples of the current rising tide of the far-right in our politics. Just to say the US president's name is to call up images of those who have died from his vaccine denialism and his cuts to global aid. Thoughts of Charlottesville and his support for authoritarian regimes and their anti-pluralist notions.
So when I see a party that speaks of "remigration," of making Germany for the Germans again, and of historical revisionism concerning one of humanity's darkest periods, I pay attention. The Alternative for Deustschland (AfD) may be at the threshold of power in the state of Saxony-Anhalt and I call on all friends of democracy and open and pluralist societies to watch closely and where possible take peaceful paths toward resisting any attempts to implement anti-constitutional orders or policies.
So long as there are good people in the world courageous enough to stand for what is right then I tend to believe right will prevail.
