Title: Today, 20 Jan 2021 is Penguin Awareness Day
Post by: xpb on January 20, 2021, 07:18:15 AM
Since nothing else is going on today, be sure to celebrate Penguin Awareness Day (https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/penguin-awareness-day/) with a review of the Pengöpäts entry in the National Atlas of the Kingdom of Talossa 1994 (https://wiki.talossa.com/images/e/e4/National_Atlas_of_the_Regipats_Talossa.pdf)

And Penguin Island (https://www.google.com/maps/dir//Penguin+Island,+New+Zealand/@-47.7528,179.017972,698m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!4m8!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0xa80895494513ad3f:0xf634a26303218827!2m2!1d179.0180087!2d-47.7539287!3e0), which is as close to an antipode to Cézembre as can be found, in the Bounty Islands (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bounty_Islands)

Although technically incorrect, I was claimed by the Soviets and there where 2 bases

Technically claimed is a strong word too tho, having a base in the area doesn't necessarily count as claim xD

Part of the Bounty Islands were claimed by USSR?  Interesting - did not know that.  I do see they are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand_Subantarctic_Islands.
Or are you referring to Pengöpäts?

Just as there are some inklings of a Cézembre consulate in Vuode (//http://) and Paris (//http://), for Pengöpäts it would appear the only viable option rather than a restaurant would be the dining area at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station
