Senator G. Valcádach would like you all to know he's without power and therefore without internet access for a few days, thanks to the shameful incompetence of the State of Texas (that second clause isn't his words, but mine).

Three blackouts this week, and we are not out of the woods yet. Not fun. Thanks, Daph. (and Dr. Nordselva is Scribe - lol)
I was thinking about you, GV, as well as our other fellow citizens who reside in Texas. My Texas friends and family live in Beaumont, and they say they've been largely unaffected by the situation. My brothers back yard is part of the Big Thicket, and he sent me pictures...the bayou is frozen over! (I grew up in Texas. When I first moved to Ohio, the locals laughed at me because I'd wear a sweater in 70° weather. To me, that 70° was chilly! Now, twenty years later, I'm used to 11°!)
i hope every one in Texas is ok and safe
