Title: Recent Read: Kamus of Kadizhar: The Black Hole of Carcosa by John Shirley
Post by: Eiric S. Bornatfiglheu on December 23, 2022, 05:52:38 PM
This piece combines sci-fi, noir, and comedy in an almost pitch-perfect way.  Also has a cameo by Ivan Stand and J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, for those Subgenii out there.

Yeah, I like John Shirley's work, including his contribution to Three-Fisted Tales of "Bob", his grim addiction-horror novel Wetbones, and his lyrics for Blue Öyster Cült (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIdntHAhTv0). I knew of this book's existence, which is why I was a bit perturbed to see Stang promoting their latest publication Eyelash (https://www.subgenius.com/scatalog/books.htm) as "the first SubGenius scifi novel". But Stang is old, cranky and intolerant of dissent these days (weird combination, guy votes for Bernie Sanders and whines about woke types who don't appreciate good honest SubGenius macho thuggery).

Is "Black Hole..." only available in dead tree or is it online or in epub?
