Title: Intention to run for Senate seat
Post by: Eðo Grischun on June 07, 2020, 12:33:23 AM
Vuode,

As you may know, I am currently serving as your interim Senator, serving the remainder of V's term.  The seat shall be contested in the upcoming general election.

I hereby give notice of my intention to seek to be returned to the Senate as this province's representative and will be standing in the upcoming election for Vuodean seat.

It has been pointed out to me that we have a clause in our local constitution which says Senate candidates for this province's seat must declare intention to run for election within a specific window of time.  This window has now closed meaning that I shall be returned to the Senate uncontested.

Last term, the Ziu passed an amendment to introduce a fee for accepting Senate seats.  This has not been ratified as yet and is still pending national referendum.  However, I have made a voluntary donation to the Treasury in the amount equal to what would have been the Senate fee.  (Credit for this idea goes to fellow FreeDem @mpf - Vote FreeDems - leading by example)
