WHEREAS Russia's aggression against Ukraine and China's genocide of the Uyghurs are very worthy of being condemned, and

WHEREAS TNC MC Tzaracomprada has introduced Senses of the Ziu condemning them, and

WHEREAS Despite his eloquent writing, MC Tzaracomprada's true motivation for introducing these Senses is likely to politically embarrass the Free Democrats for their ongoing boycott of TNC legislation, and

WHEREAS The evidence of this is that he has not introduced any similar Senses in the previous several Cosas, despite (unfortunately) there being plenty of bad things going on in the world which could have been condemned, and

WHEREAS I reject the use of sanctions because they disproportionally harm the poor of every nation they are inflicted on, while exerting almost no influence on the governments of those nations, and

WHEREAS Because I am removing the endorsement of sanctions from MC Tzaracomprada's original Sense concerning Russia's war in Ukraine, this is a substantively different bill and not a straight copy


THEREFORE Be it resolved that the Ziu of the Kingdom of Talossa:

Supports the people of Ukraine in their fight to repel invaders and re-establish self-determination

Encourages the International Criminal Court to investigate war crimes committed by Russian invaders

Condemns the Russian blockade of Ukrainian wheat as an terrible disruption of peaceful commerce which could plunge millions into starvation

Recognizes the treatment of Uyghurs by the Chinese Communist Party as a genocide and encourages other countries to do the same

Calls on the applicable human rights organizations to investigate this genocide

Since S:reu Lenxheir is not a member of the Talossan National Congress, this submission is not included in the FreeDem legislative boycott.

Just a reminder to everyone why this unpleasantness has to continue:
-The TNC campaigned on Monarchy reform but is still yet to produce any actual proposal.
-The FreeDems asked the TNC several times what Monarchy reform it had in mind. It was clear that further questions would be met with silence.
-The FreeDems are making the TNC fulfill its commitment to their own voters. The TNC has responded to our very reasonable request with howling and bloviating.

We currently have an incentive program to encourage citizens to update the wiki: https://wittenberg.talossa.com/index.php?topic=1485.0. It is not too hard once it's set up, Id be happy to help.

Just like everything else, the Ministry of STUFF is very understaffed. It cannot reasonably be expected to be responsible for all wiki updates right now.

1. Based on the conversations we've had, I expect the Minister of Defense to begin work next week. I encourage you to ask him a Terp for specifics.
2. I do not have a specific date for the trivia night yet.
3. The current plan is to resume weekly social media posts within the week.

I thank the honorable member for his question. It's always good to get a jolt of accountability.

I can provide the following updates:
-The Minister of Defense has assured me that he will soon be getting a lot less busy at work, and will proceed to tackling one of the coalition agreement items for his Ministry every week. He will also start more actively managing the Zuavs. He will gladly answer additional Terps directed at him.
-The Twitch trivia contest is not postponed indefinitely, we just need to find someone to host it. We are working on that now.
-We will resume posts to social media, which we admit have been lacking. With regard to wiki updates, I restarted the "Seneschal's Days of Observance" program to encourage wiki editing. It has unfortunately failed to spur the same level as activity as the first time (at least so far).

The 2022 edition of the Talossan Music Top 20 is currently in final voting. Over the past two months, voters have narrowed 150 songs down to 15, and the rankings all come down to the final round. Now is a great time to vote if you haven't so far.
