I'm still trying to figure out the gambling thing in a way that won't get me busted by the FBI or MI5 or whatever. Maybe with cryptocurrency and prediction markets? Tough problem.

Personally, I think the only way it works is if you use Talossan currency, and even then...not sure it's worth the hassle.

I think the link http://wiki.talossa.com/The_Talossan_Football_League_(TFL) needs to feature information found at https://talossa.com/culture/talossan-football-league/

We also need to know where the stadiums are - I have the one for Cézembre with the midfield point at https://w3w.co/hunks.alien.statehouse
That is called Canard Colosseum for the Canards da Cézembre team but perhaps that could be shared with the Bombers or the name could evolve to that.

Ooh, I like Canards, we could go with that.

Bumping for visibility. Currently we're at ten teams, presuming I add one for Pengopats

I have not heard much feedback unfortunately but think a more formed proposal might generate it. Shall we work on a merger constitution to accompany a proposed referendum?

Well this was just about the election itself, not the merger, but I have a little something I could send you on that note, actually.

I don't know if I like the green background, but the insignia are nicely done. Before the current iteration of the Zouaves, we had insignia very similar to those you did here. I would add an additional officer rank for the Captain of the Zouaves.

By the way, keep up all the good work you've been doing and you'll be the fastest member of the armed forces to earn promotion from Private to Private First Class.

Before I redo these -- do you have a recommendation for the color to use? I imagine the Zouaves' "current uniform" is a bit...hazy...

I'm trying to remember but I don't recall a specific color assigned to the Zouaves. However, on closer reflection, the green might be a good choice as it is a "military" color. I guess my suggestion would be to make both the insignia of the enlisted and officers the same shade of military green.

I have updated the officer insignia to (a) include a three-acorn insignia for Captain, and (b) use the same shade as the enlisted ranks (I chose to go with the shade the enlisted ranks used because I feel like it's more obviously green; sometimes it can be tough to distinguish on a dark screen background...

While I never implemented this, when I reformed the Zuavs and created the current system, I imagined that their colours would be blue and red, in keeping with their Berber origin.  The French Zuoaves wore a stylized version of a traditional Berber costume, with blue jackets with red trim and red pants.  So blue with red trim would be my advice, but of course the current commander gets to set all of that policy (unless the MinDef overrules him).

The current award design -- as far as it goes -- has one silver bar awarded for PSC, two silver bars for PFC, one gold bar for SPC, and two gold bars for CPL.

Alas, I was updating while you wrote this, so I didn't see it until after I went back and edited the OP.

I had a feeling that was the order the awards on the wiki were in, but it still felt a little odd that we have these higher ranks and no way to display them, hence the above.

Blue and red would be a good combo, would give it a bit more of an obvious gendarmerie vibe (which feels appropriate as that is what I conceive of the Zouaves as being -- that space between military and police).

Looks good to me, and we can draft the Petition.

However, the bear on gold is something I have seen earlier. If so, then we might have to go to the drafting board again.

At least looking through the various lists on the wiki, I'm only seeing one mention of a bear (fittingly, on the canting arms of Óïn Davíu Ursüm)

Mr. Secretary @Dr. Txec Róibeard dal Nordselvă, Esq., O.SPM, SMM, I would like to advise you of PdR's current candidate list, namely myself and Caleb Frenibuerg.

One thing I noticed whilst trawling the wiki was that the Zouaves have insignia for a few ranks, but the ones that exist are not particularly well-identified with their actual rank (what do two gold bars signify?)

As such, I decided to try my hand at a few new insignia for the ranks listed on the wiki.

While the enlisted insignia are not particularly native to Talossa, the officer shoulderboard insignia make up for it by eschewing bars or stars in favor of the acorn, by association with that most fearsome of national animals, the squirrel.

Benvenescu!

I hereby pass along to you the mantle of Talossa's Newest Citizen. It looks good on you, though I hope you can forfeit possession of it soon.

I figure with all these creative ideas, I might as well have some of them count towards something (besides the enrichment of glorious Talossan culture, of course).

Citaxhién Autófil, requesting enlistment.

Alternatively, if we want something a little less ultramodern:

(If I'm honest, given the color scheme, I can't help read this as Forza Talossa and am confused as to whether it's an Italian political party, a pro-Italy sports slogan, or a new driving game ::) )

Any updates on this? Not sure if we're supposed to be seeing anything more official coming out, like I'm seeing in some other provinces.

Buongiorno, neighbor!

Speaking for myself, at least, you know I'm in favor of it (and running for the Assembly on a platform that includes it).

Talossans, I currently have one area to not miss (the museum area on the coast of Mar Talossan). But there must be other areas? I can think of a couple in Florencia but please do not be shy in recommending others.

It's just inside Talossan territory, but not an "attraction" in the traditional sense: the Milwaukee Public Market. So much good food. I recommend On The Bus if you're open to eating mostly plant-based stuff (I have D:na Autófil to thank for that diet...).

If you want to get lunch with a fellow Talossan, assuming I haven't moved between now and then, I'd happily make the hour drive.
