Quote from: Sir Ian Plätschisch on September 08, 2025, 05:55:22 PMAnyway here are a few songs I would have nominated had different categories won

Songs about historical events

Considering I came up with the category myself, I hadn't really considered any suggestions for it 😂 But here's one I would have nominated.

Quote from: Sir Ian Plätschisch on September 08, 2025, 06:29:41 AMThere's more than enough room in these categories for me to smuggle some jazz and big band in here :P

Sad that indie lost though

Does "songs with no lyrics" mean instrumentals, or instruments and vocals without words? Both?

It's slightly ironic that the category that I suggested is the one I have least idea about what to nominate for it.

edit: except eurodance, where I have no idea where to start even.

6. Indie rock

I like that idea of the pre-defined list. Then there's no need to consider whatever definition each person would consider "indie".

My first try at nominating categories:

1. Songs that include unusual time signatures
2. Songs with twin guitars
3. Songs about historical events

I was considering "unoriginal songs used in movies", but figured it could be covered by the "too common" rule? As in all songs used in Guardians of the galaxy, for example.

I know it says "Robert Wyatt - Alife". But I always read it as "Alfie", even though I know it isn't correct. That's all I had to say. Thanks for the attention.
