I have some unfortunate news, after my own review, of Florencian Constitution. We do not have a Governor. For more information please review Article 7 in the section concerning the Appointment of the Governor.

I can confirm I never fulfilled the obligation to sing the provincial anthem in the presence of the Constable.

I am also going to take this opportunity to suggest a more active and involved Florencian for the office of Governor. @Zilect Uómbat Firă

Zilect may also have a better singing voice. @Dame Litz Cjantscheir, UrN should you recognize that the office of Governor is actually vacant then I support the appointment of my colleague in the Nimlet.

Breneir
While I appreciate the nomination, I will decline as I need to focus more on my other obligations.

Quote from: Dame Litz Cjantscheir, UrN on October 28, 2024, 07:21:14 PMIt appears to me that Article IV, Section 6 of the Constitution of Florencia has not been adhered to, as I see no evidence that the Governor has invited the Constable to consider any resolution for approval. This procedural step is essential under the Constitution to ensure the lawful enactment of resolutions.

Regardless, under my authority in Article IV, Section 6, I am formally disapproving the Statutory Law Codification Act. My objections are grounded in the resolution's apparent inorganic provisions that impose obligations upon the Crown to maintain and administer provincial laws. Should the office of Constable become vacant, this requirement would place a direct administrative responsibility upon the Sovereign, which is neither appropriate nor consistent with constitutional/organic intent. The Constitution nor OrgLaw does not envision a province requiring the Crown to undertake provincial administrative duties, as this fundamentally misinterprets the nature of the Crown's role.

Further, the resolution breaches Article III, Section 1, as it misinterprets the role of the Constable. The Constable is a representative of the Sovereign of Talossa, and the administration of provincial laws is not an obligation of the Crown but rather a duty of the provincial legislature, the Governor, or bodies created by them.

Per Article IV, Section 6:

QuotePresentation to the Constable
Whenever the House of Shepherds has passed a resolution, the Governor shall close the question, sign the instrument forthwith, and invite that Constable consider it for approval.
... If the Constable disapprove a resolution presented by the Governor, then the former shall return it to the consideration of the Shepherds with his objections in writing: and if the same resolution should earn again at least twice as many affirmative votes as negative ... the Governor shall close the question and promulgate the resolution forthwith.

For these reasons, I am returning the Statutory Law Codification Act to the House of Shepherds for further consideration, citing these constitutional/organic objections.

After taking another look at the Constitution of Florencia, I agree that this duty should already apply to the Governor.

Since this does not appear to be happening, should the Nimlet consider a bill to equire the Governor perform this duty?

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 27, 2024, 03:32:25 PM@Zilect Uómbat Firă Well, while we wait for King John to abdicate and make Txec's ascension final I have an update. We do actually have a constable: @Dame Litz Cjantscheir, UrN

In light of this, I wanted to confirm you would still prefer for me to petition Txec once he is officially king?
I'll defer to your discretion

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on October 20, 2024, 06:29:36 PMExcellent point and it definitely seems unattended. Would you be OK if I waited until Txec is officially King to submit the petition? If memory serves me well, last time I had to submit this petition it went unaswered so I'd like to present it to the likely more active monarch.
makes perfect sense!

That seems to imply the position is either vacant or generally unattended.
Per Article III §1 of the Constitution of Florencia (2020): "If the office of the Constable be ever vacant or generally unattended, the Governor shall petition without delay that the Sovereign appoint a new Constable and shall repeat this petition so often as may be necessary to effectuate the appointment."

The Nimlet recently passed the Statutory Law Codification Act. Can the Constable provide an update on the availability of a codified copy of the statutes and resolutions that have been adopted in accordance Article IV, Section 6 of the Constitution of Florencia (2020)?

  • Offer a form of accredited qualification (however dubious such accreditation would be 😆🫣) likly in the form of cultural studies and/or/aswell as Talossan Law(with a cool certificate to go with it)
Would I be able to post this on Linkedin?

Sure why not!
Let me rephrase. If I get a certification from LexisNexis, it asks me "would you like ot post on LinkedIn?" and if I click "yes" the post on LinkedIn is able to be verified by anyone looking to see if I actually got the certification I posted about.

Quote from: Breneir Tzaracomprada on September 18, 2024, 07:05:04 PMI support citizen initiatives but think the number of petitioners needs to be raised.

I based the number on just under half voter turnout from the last election. I'm open to amending this.

I just realized the final sentence of 2024-03 doesn't specify the name of the holiday, and should be amended to read:

2024-03:
Nacho (Average) Holiday Resolution
Whereas Florencia was established as a province of Talossa on September 1st, 1996; and
Whereas Florencia is the Nacho-shaped Province;
Be it resolved that September 1st shall be a provincial holiday called Nacho Day beginning in the year 2025/XLVI.

Cinnamon/Brown Sugar Apples & Orange Cider
This is two recipes that go hand-in-hand.

Cinnamon/Brown Sugar Apples

What you need: 1 medium sized cooking pot with lid
Apples - I use a 3 pound bag of Golden Delicious, you can use other apples if you wish.
granulated brown sugar
cinnamon (you may substitute or add cinnamon schnapps)
honey
32 ounces of orange juice
lemon juice

1 ) Slice your apples (I have an "easy slicer" that cores the apples and cuts it into 8 pieces) - you can do this first or after "2 - 5"

2 ) pour some (approx. 6-8 ounces) of the orange juice into your pot (you can turn the stove on while adding ingredients to the pot - low or medium)

3 ) pour in some of the granulated brown sugar until the pile of sugar pokes thru the juice

4 ) add some cinnamon - I use the "shaker" side of the lid and add in a circular motion until I've made at least one full circle around the pot

5 ) add some honey (about 2 circles around your pot) and some lemon juice (one good squeeze of your)

6 ) stir and slowly bring this to a simmer

7 ) add about 1/3 of your apples - they should all be in the juice, and the pot should appear full

8 ) bring to a boil (you may additionally add some extra cinnamon, brown sugar & honey)

Bringing it to a boil

9 ) once your apples & mix are boiling, turn the heat down to low and remove the apples from your mix, place these in your bowl (try to drain all of the juice from your apples as you remove them)

10 ) repeat steps 7-9 until all of your apples are cooked, then turn off your stove.

11 ) save the juice in your pot, you are now ready to make your orange cider.

Orange Cider

12 ) pour the remainder of your orange juice into your pot

13 ) stir for 10-15 seconds

14 ) your orange cider is now ready, you may either pour it back into your OJ bottle (this requires a funnel) or pour into a punch bowl or other container.
